If we check the stats, there has been a reduction in the number of Applications and Visas because a student is limited to working 20 hours a week and can't afford to pay high rest and cost of living while sharing their room with other 4 people. $2k was the rent of a 4bhk house with 3 washrooms etc and now you get a 1bhk studio apartment. It's crazy how it was shocking for him to know that a private room was available for $600 because usually, that's not the case with everyone.
In 2024, IRCC will revamp post-graduate work permits (PGWP). PGWP will be changed to meet market condition and immigration target. I speculate that some students in in-demand occupations will have longer PGWP periods.
