Quill - Paint and Animate in VR

- Quill released the animation feature update today! It's hard to put in worlds how excited I am about this update.
Quill created numerous memorable breakthrough moments for me as an artist since I started working in VR.
Animation is the most exciting one to date.
Some of you might know that I started my career as a 3D character animator, and I learned how to paint in my spare time which landed me a Job in the Animation industry. It's been 10 years since I did the career change but animation always had special place in my heart and I made sure that I always keep that skill alive with little side projects.
With the Quill animation update I found a tool where I could combine both of my skill sets, illustration and animation, in an intuitive way. All the technical barriers I would have with the traditional 3D approach such as rigging, surfacing, lighting and rendering are now gone. I can skip all those steps and just focus on the part of creation.
This is game changing and for me as an artist a dream come true! I'm convinced that Quill and creation in VR in general will change many artists' lives as it sure changed mine forever. This update is available immediately! Enjoy the trailer!

Can't get over have awesome this news is. Now to spend another million+ hours painting/animating in Quill.

so sick i dont even need basic animation software anymore this seems pretty intuitive
Now we just need all this amazing art software not beeing limited to only one kind of hardware devices. But more transperency and collaboration please, if we want the VR Industry to grow. What Im also trying to say is, that I want this for HTC Vive and other New VR platforms.

You can use medium with any headset, quill I'm not sure but I think it too

@@mightos9862 how wrong u were, Facebook and all other vr cooperations (except for windows MR) has now updated its games so they can fit on any platform in a matter of hours.
hopefully they add more unique features for vr cuz you can do so much unique things with the program its not your basic software you can really move i would like to see a level of interactivity that would be amazing

You can! Create a bootcamp partition (I’d recommend 300GB), install the oculus app, get a Link cable for your Quest and boom!

This is really interesting. I've been using Tiltbrush, but I don't think there's anyway to animate with that.

Haven't tried the valve Index have you? It's incredible. I watch movies in Bigscreen and it's just like being in the theater. I wouldn't dream of it in another headset due to screendoor effect on them but it's super minimal on the index.

of course. you can create games with any tools that spit out 3D assets. You need to use it in conjunction with a game engine like unity or unreal.
