    Know you’re busy, but if you get a chance, straighten your fence while the ground is still wet. This works if they’re not broken. Once the posts are straight, you can dig a shallow hole around them and pour doughnuts of concrete around them. ( maybe 1/2 a bag). Fill in the rest of the hole and you’ll be good to go. Learned this after Rita in 2005. And congrats for finally tying the knot! Wish you both all the happiness in the world.

    I live 2 min from the east coast of Mobile Bay. Watched the storm run straight up the Bay. Torrential side blowing rain accompanied by enormous winds. My property survived with no damage but most others were not so fortunate. If the sheer power of a storm like this doesn't inspire awe, you must already be dead. Lost power for two days. Fed the neighbors hot meals cooked on my 2 camp stoves stationed in my garage. Made the best of the situation and we will move on. SAFE HERE!!!!!!

    Still can’t believe how strong this storm was we even had 100 mph gusts up here in Cantonment. I was actually scheduled to close on a home in Gulf Breeze near zoo the day Sally arrived . Thankfully it was not flooded or damaged. Our house in Cantonment made it thru like a champ no damage. Thanks for sharing the footage and story for damage to your house hope you get repairs soon. When I made the comment below, I didn’t think I’d be straightening my own fence in a few weeks ( thanks to hurricane Delta). Forgot 1 thing. Dig at least the half of the shallow hole on the side the fence is leaning away from before straightening the post. Puts less stress on the post while straightening. Also, when you dig that hole, you can fill it with water and let it soak a bit to make it easier to straighten.

    Me and my wife just made a "relo" from the midwest to Fairhope, Alabama (fruit & nut section). We got hammered, tree's down everywhere, power lines down, no service for 5 days, no mail for 5 days, people hugging, crying, just crazy!. Still cutting tree's down, clearing streets..unbelievable!

    • @paulvonauth7254
      @paulvonauth7254 4 года назад

      @@markshipp9305 Yes, we actually left the area for 2 days. At that time it was almost impossible for us to "get-out" being the condtions(roads, powerlines,debris). As we progressed north through Daphne and Spanish Fort the damage was far less. I have a "mountain" of debris on the road and still need "3" tree removed as one is leaning on our home(now have a source to remove, just waiting). It's like a bomb went off. It's amazing though how the neighbors joined in efforts to clean and helps others, and the local church as well. Unlike anything I ever expereinced!, and we just moved here from Michigan!!!

    Ya, I was in Foley, Alabama, for Hurricane Sally.....My house was right in the middle of it. Five 120’ Long Leaf Pines went down on our house, crushing the roof , bedroom, bathrooms, utility room, carport, cars,power lines...But....we survived.. Three 50 year old Water Oaks went the opposite way of my house, along with two 50 year old Magnolias...They are all still lying in the yard. Lots of crews from out of state came to cut trees and make money. The Salvation Army passed out hot meals and were really wonderful. We are still in shock...The house was yellow tagged..Right now, I feel sadness....but, I just want to slap myself awake, because my partner, two Chihuahuas, and Tuxedo Cat did survive!
