I just recently found your Rose, and I have to say it's absolutely beautiful! It's one of the easiest Roses I've ever made. To all the people out there who complain because it wasn't QUICK enough, it took 12 minutes - C'MON REALLY? If you can't spend 12 minutes of your life creating something as beautiful as this, then go elsewhere! Thank you Margaret for sharing your DIY. I added a little bling by hot-gluing some glitter to the edge of each petal - amazing! I will definitely be making more of these.
I've watched a lot of flower tutorials on You Tube, and this is one of the best. Your instructions are quick, clear and very easy for me to follow. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
I followed this tutorial years ago to decorate my college dorm room! What I did that is a fun tip was to paint the coffee filters first with a wash of light watercolor paint to make them whatever colors you want - then let them dry before you start making the flowers. Doing that also gets rid of the coffee filter crinkles so the roses look a little softer! I should definitely try this again, they are so pretty!
Margaret I have been making these beautiful roses sent I stumbled upon your tutorial almost 3 years ago! I have told everyone about your RUclips page and made all of the centerpieces and flowers for my son's wedding two and 1/2 years ago. Received so many compliments and needed to let you know how much I appreciate you sharing your talent! I wish I could show you are beautiful they came out. And I continue to show my friends and family how to make these elegant roses. It is still my absolute favorite! Thank you so very much!!!
I have made these for years and it’s still my favorite way to make a beautiful rose. I made coffee filter roses this way for my son’s wedding 7 years ago and am making a table runner with these flowers for my cousin’s wedding in October! Thank you for sharing your talent and step by step instructions.wish I could show you the bouquet I made…
Love these! I was struggling to cut and curl the fancy crepe paper flower sets, but using coffee filters with your easier pattern worked much better for me. Thanks!
I like these. I used pipe cleaners instead of floral wire because that is what I had. You are so right about the low temp hot glue being better. Thanks for sharing this.
I've made 8 so far but I started using long lollipop sticks from the baking section at Joannes then wrapping it in green floral wrap. I've also made and added leaves and the part at the base holding the rose with it's points, know what I mean? Anyway, I then took red alcohol ink and drizzled it way inside of each rose paper heart. Really pretty! Couldn't have done it without your tutorial! Thanks a bunch for sharing.
These are amazing! Thank you for this super simple tutorial without a lot of editorializing! I've been searching for a 'How to' for some time now, to learn how to do these for my wedding in 4 months, and this is the first one that didn't overwhelm and irritate. :) :) Thank you again!! These are beautiful!!
I wish i found this video before my baby shower, i made paper flowers for the favours and they took so long to make and didn't turn out half as gorgeous as these. I made a bouquet for every room of my house lol. thank you for making this video. You did a great job
Your rose is lovely and delicate. Also reminds me of a gardenia. Thank you for a clear tutorial, no music, and no endless chatter. I really enjoyed this, and I subscribe to your channel now. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful creations. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this step by step tutorial. I made my first rose and my husband thought I got it off our rose bush. I can't wait to make more. I am going to share on Pinterest in hopes other will try.
i can't wait to try one. I'm thinking of doing a few for our family to wear to graduation with school colors. filter would absorb the paint very well. thank you for sharing.
I have made the ones with the Martha Stewart petal patterns before and I was looking for that video to remind me how when I came across this one! This seems like it might be a lot faster and so I think I will try this instead. Thanks for posting!
Beautiful, I also make these out of tissue paper. Coffee filters look more real and you can also paint them with water colors and make gorgious colored roses. thank you for your awesome talents and sharing them with us. I look forward to following you and watching more of your videos. God Bless
Well thank I love making any paper and fabric flowers. Amazing what we can make with simple materials in our home. Thank you for watching! Many blessings your way....hugs!
This is the best tutorial for the coffee filter roses I've seen. The only thing I'd do different maybe is to put a large pearl or bead on the wire before inserting into the petals. Not sure if that would work but it's something I love to do with roses. However, if you prefer the more "bud" look to the center, then eliminate the pearl. But again...just love this tutorial. Great job!!
These are so beautiful. I did not think the basket ones would be as pretty as the cone shaped coffee filters. You have sure shown me differently! Your rose is awesome!
Thanks so much, my mom taught me to do something like this when I was little. She has passed and I couldn't rem. how to do it. Now I can try. Again thanks
So gorgeous! My first one didn't turn out too bad. I worked right along with you and found it very easy and quick. Glad I found you! Subscribed to you channel so I can see what all you come up with. I see the last time you posted was a year ago. I hope you are able to continue your crafting videos.
very nicely done......and people complaining it's not fast... come on!! for such a beautiful flower, 10 minutes is nothing!... if u want it "fast" buy them from somewhere! don't make them! where would be the fun in it, after all? Thanks for sharing this! I'm definitely trying it!! x
Beautiful, simple, easy, Great Tutorial!!! I looked through and tried a lot of coffee filter flowers, yours is so easy to follow! Thank you Oh I used Qtips instead of floral wire I didn’t even know there was a high and low temperature glue gun and I was burning myself until I used the low temperature one, So thanks again
These remind me of the crepe paper flowers my mom and aunts use to make for Memorial Day. They would make flowers for at least a week to use for decorating graves. It is a weird but precious memory.
Thank you I think you did fine... some people don't appreciate patience. :) those came out lovely -i realized more by the end that the fold up was what caused it to fan out. I have a lot of coffee filters saved since i don't have a coffee maker like that anymore..going to try it. Have a nice day :)
I have made some roses but after the first I was having trouble . but I now see again what I am doing wrong. so I am going at it again. thanks for a beautiful rose.
I followed these directions and made 24 baskets with 12 flowers in each for my daughter's wedding. They were such a hit! People really couldn't believe that they weren't real.
Lovely! Thanks for sharing. I dipped mine in a watered down acrilyc paint bath and then a second bath with a darker color just half way. Then i finished with an edge coordinatig color for some of thd tips. They came out so real!
Hi Margaret, great looking Rose honey, I love them...I have a suggestion...why not use a used dryer sheet for the leaves, you'd still paint them green ,then after they dry cut them into leaf shapes and using floral tape or hot clue attach them to your stem, I've made a number of coffee filter Roses, and added heart shape pieces of used dryer sheets in between the layers of filter petals and it really turns out pretty and full ! then I paint the dryer sheets using a mixture of a few drops of paint to glimmer mist this formula makes them look very pretty....when I make coffee filter and dryer sheet roses, I almost never put them on a long stem, just a short 16 or 18 gage wire which is flexible enough to curl the edges / or even if you'd like no stem at all ...just adding the dryer sheet leaves to the bottom of the flower. wow sorry I didn't mean to write you a book report ! I like what you've done and thanks for sharing XOXO Alma
So inspirational! I actually just did a video making coffee filter flowers. They are so much fun. I added color to mine and used them for decorations & hair ornaments. Just beautiful!
Very beautiful, I followed along with you, but since you said you don't have to use hot glue I thought I would be lazy and just use elmer's glue, bad choice. Next time I'll plug in the hot glue gun:). It did take some time to make and still sitting here playing with it to make it look right, but it's coming along and looking very pretty, more like a carnation which is my favorite flower any way. You are very talented. It’s beautiful do you know if I could spray some teal and ivory floral spray paint on them for a wedding? Looking forward for your answer and if others know.
Love ur coffee filter roses!! Are the middle petals supposed to be smaller than the outside petals and to color the coffee filters is it best to color before the petals are made or after the rose is formed? And as u layer the petals is it best to layer then so the tops of the petals are all even at the top where the layers meet? I always have trouble with that, the paper roses I've made don't look right cause I seem to end up layering them un even at different lengths.
Actually, this seems pretty quick to me. Fold the first ones , (video shows really well how to do that....) Fold the second set, cut , then cut them all in 1/2 from the seam from top to bottom, then fold bottoms up to make flat, and glue onto rod starting midway from where the last one ended. Every craft takes "time" . For how beautiful these are, they are fast indeed. Ty for this tutorial.
I wonder if you can spray paint them?? My theme is rose gold. I wonder if I should spray the filter before I do all the folding or after because wouldn't the spray make the paper hard?
Mine turned out beautiful, thank you. I wonder if you have ever used the wooden skewers from Dollar tree? The reason I ask is using hot glue would make the bottom smaller, and easier to handle, with the skewers.

My first attempt at the rose looked more like a carnation too so whatever flower it is still pretty
Beautiful and easy to make B.Thanks.

Thank you so much! Ma's 90th Birthday is this weekend, for which I had planned to make her a bouquet of her flowers from her garden.
