Thanks a lot for this tutorial Luca, It was really helpful as a beginner looking to dive into framer. Also, Thanks for making the files available to follow along. Best framer Tutor ❤. Highly Recommended if you're getting started with framer !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💯
This tutorial is the BEST ✨ Can you please make another one talking about how you prepared the components and the color scheme and the font settings for the headings and the body? And thank you so much
This was very helpful. One of the better crash courses out there. No skipping, no jumping corners. I reached up to the point where you incorporated animations in your elements. However, when I preview the website, the animations are a bit too fast and not smooth. I'm using framer on my browser. Would this be an issue ? Also, what's the best way to get in touch with you ?
Oh wow, thanks so much for the kind words ❤️ Since I uploaded the video Framer has slightly changed the default values for animations (though they should still act the same if the values are the same), so maybe that's something but it's hard to tell without taking a look at the project. If you could share the remix link with me via Twitter (which is also the best place to get in touch with me) that would be great! Here's my handle: x.com/LucaDaCorte Talk soon 🙂
Hi. Not sure if this is a stupid question. But, at 11.18, how did you select two frames at the same time ? Was this done with a Keyboard Shortcut ? I'm using Windows, so I would like to know. Also, how do you select elements in a frame (without dragging the main frame) ? It seems like a lot of these crash course tutorials are using keyboard shortcuts. Would like to know how you do it. Thanks !
Hey 👋🏻 No question too stupid to be asked! So, for selecting multiple layers you can do it by holding down SHIFT (if the layers are one after the other) or COMMAND (if the layers are not one after the other) - this is more of a general shortcut that works on multiple software, not really a Framer-specific thing. As for selecting elements, I just select them(?) I don't use any shortcut to selecting things, I just hover over them and select (maybe I misunderstood your question?) So yeah, I basically didn't use any Framer-specific shortcut (also because I never use them anyway) - hope you were able to follow along 🙌🏻
Great tutorial, Luca! One question, does navigation already resize and turn into a hamburger menu with a drawer on mobile if you select it from the asset library?
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻 Yes, all the pre-made nav bars have a desktop and a phone variant that allows them to be responsive out of the box. I think it's such a time saver, which is why I recommend always starting with them 🙂
Hey 👋🏻 I go over all of them during the video but you can also check them yourself using the free remix link in the comments. Let me know if something isn't clear!
Hey luca Loved your design and the portfolio website I am facing issue like as I have completed all the steps for making websites and as i preview my tab and mob one especially the About me section the box got increased and it hide my face .. Can u guide me how to get rid over this ?
Hey, thanks so much for the kind words! Yess, I can help you debug that. Would you mind sending me a message on Twitter or an email with the remix link so I can look into it? Thanks!
Mhh a bit hard to tell without looking at the project, maybe you didn't change the variant to mobile? (just guessing) If you are still struggling with it feel free to share a remix link with me maybe on Twitter and I can take a look!
Hey Bro, I have a question I hope you see and answer me. So my question is "In the about section image, why did you upload image creating a variable, why didn't you upload it as it is like how you upload images for the portfolio section. you created a component, then clicked on fill and uploaded an image. In this case it was a portfolio image from unsplash. But in the about profile pic section you specifically created a variable image to upload from unsplash. Why created variable and not upload normally? is there any specific reason? Basically you uploaded differently in both the cases. In first you created variable and then fill with a picture, and in other you created variable from a different place and select an image. I am totally confused
Hey mate! Sure, always happy to reply to comments 🙂 So, in general, if you expect the image to change with time or if you want it to change based on the instance, it's better to have a variable for it - especially when working with clients. For example, the personal picture I used in the About section will not change often, and I don't want it to change based on the instance, so a static image was more than enough. However, the images in the portfolio section need to change based on the instance of the component, so there I needed a variable. In general, if you need some content in a component to be easily customisable because it will change often or you need it to change at each instance, then use a variable. If it's something that will not be changed nor needs to be changed based on the instance, you can use static content. Hope this clarifies 🙌🏻
More of these please !

Thanks mate! I use screen.studio (only available on mac though 😅)
Can you make a video about how we upload it on our website?????
Hey 👋🏻
Sorry but what do you mean? If you build it on Framer, all you have to do is publish it and it will be live :D
