Most Amiga games were way ahead of their time and several of them had better playability and infinitely better music than pretty much all games made since.
Aw, the king killing the queen got corrupted! Here's what happens, iirc: They hug. Queen raises a knife to stab him in the back, but King is faster doing the same (with his sceptre, I think?) and kills her.
I actually came here for Rook takes Queen because I was discussing vore fantasies with someone :D I love how ridiculous the King's takes are, because the King doesn't take very often.
Pawn: Sneakiness Knight: Elegance Bishop: White magic Queen: Black magic Tower: Sheer Power (I love the fact it's a freaking golem!) King: Tinkerer? (at least, he's resourceful)
What happened at the end? Censored? I remember in the next version the King would makeout with the enemy Queen and when she tried to backstab him he would see it coming and pushing her down, proclaiming "You Wench!"
I remember the Mac version had some even more brutal deaths - vaguely remember the Queen having an anvil in her purse and brutally smashing someone’s head in with it 😂
The opposite king and queen would embrace romantically, then suddenly the king would beat her with his scepter. I can’t tell if it was intentionally censored in this version, but it seems so...
@@neur0pathy No, there is no "suddenly" about it: He beats her because he noticed that she has drawn a dagger and is about to plunge it in his back while they embrace.
@@ryanhutchinson4467 She was kissing the king and was going to stab him from his back. The king catches that in the right time and saves himself from the stab and then defeats the queen.
@@towkirshuvo97 Okay, that makes sense. However, I think that it was a mistake because the scrambled pixels look more like a glitch with the capture card. I don’t think he blurred it out on purpose.
@@ryanhutchinson4467 yeah, it looked to me like the kind of noise I've seen on the Amiga before when sprite data gets corrupted, not like someone blurred it in post.
way ahead of its time. the memories....

As a kid my version was also corrupted, I always wondered what happened!
Same :) I think she's taking a spike out of her crown or hair.
1:42 Monty Python and The Holy Grail reference!
Ryan Hutchinson YOU YELLOW BASTARD!
And right after it a Star Wars reference
@MindstormXL Yes! I like how self-aware and comedic the animations are. They’re really the star of the show
It’s only a flesh wound.
Just thought the same
I love the way the knight fights. Classic and ruthless swordsmanship. The way he done the king though lol
it is a refernce to monty python's knights of the holy grail
@@simtill Knight vs knight is. Knight vs Bishop is a Star Wars reference.
@@Skyblade12 What does it reference exactly?
@@SchimmeIpfennig Darth Vadar cutting through Obi Wan and his robes instantly collapsing with nothing inside.

2:00 Alright, we’ll call it a draw.
'Tis but a flesh wound!
Ni
Thank you for making my day....brought a nostalgic tear to my eye.
Truly a game of Kings, Wonderful stuff! ^_^
(Was always amused wit the Knight vs Knight Monty Python reference, *Tiz but a Flesh wound!* )
Remember this well...I ran a large pirate board on the east coast. The Amiga was so ahead of anything back then. I still have 1000's of games for it.
Pawn: Sneakiness
Knight: Elegance
Bishop: White magic
Queen: Black magic
Tower: Sheer Power (I love the fact it's a freaking golem!)
King: Tinkerer? (at least, he's resourceful)
I'd say the king is Pragmatic.
1:09 Look at me. I'm the king now.
Here starts the BADASS queen- 6:04
This queen is my childhood crush 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Pretty Awesome! I played the next version, but this was really fun to see all these duels tonight, after a fun evening at Medieval Times. 🏰🛡⚔
What happened at the end? Censored? I remember in the next version the King would makeout with the enemy Queen and when she tried to backstab him he would see it coming and pushing her down, proclaiming "You Wench!"
The King became MissingNo.
5:41 this has to be the most embarassing death, while everyone is dying brutally you just get CONSUMED
I was there, Gandalf: I was there 3,000 years ago...
Ahh these were the days!
The game was featured in the 1992 film Knight Moves which Christopher Lambert is seen playing the game in the movie.
I remember the Mac version had some even more brutal deaths - vaguely remember the Queen having an anvil in her purse and brutally smashing someone’s head in with it 😂
I recognise the rook’s stomping sound as the same one used for the tank’s cannon in Firepower!
What was the last pixelated one supposed to be with the King vs Queen?

Is King VS bishop a reference to Indiana Jones somehow?
Best death XD
5:36
Yes. That was amazing
*CRONCH*
1000 agree
1:09
Gotta be my favorite Pawn animation.
5:41-5:49 COOKIE! AHM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM!
Queen cookie 🍪
Jemand wegen Coldmirror hier? :D
Jo XD
yes sir.
Die Idee is nicht neu. Das ist doch ZAUBERERSCHACH :O
I really miss this version
I love all the ways the rook getz captured.
1:42 Tis' but a scratch
Is there no King vs King animation? :)
That’s not possible since Kings can’t fight each other.
2:00 "It's only a flesh wound. Nobody beats the Black Knight!"
As a kid I did not noticed obvious Monty Python reference for knight on knight kill. Fleshwound indeed.
0:18 This is by far my favourite Pawn animation. But don't kick a Knight in his balls, it's just so uncool.
Lol I just checked the remastered one. Ya the pawn kicking the knight in the balls is my favorite haha
The King is playing dirty !
I used to play this just to watch the fights.
1:40 is a draw
this is really nice to watch
Been awhile but still cool
Played it a Lot!
This game was brutal
very nice
Who gets the reference 1:42
8:40 There was no need to blur this. I m very disappointed that you blurred it.

Them last few seconds looked a bit messed up.
King vs King is missing :-p
That is unpossible
5:41 **CONSUME**
Pleased you cut the last.
Queen deaths most horrific.
😂
1:59 We'll call it a draw
