Only player to win 3/4 GS titles and reaching all finals in 4 different years
Only player to have a +80% win in all surfaces

This debate makes about as much sense as saying LeBron is the goat over MJ. Novak won 24 slams in 16 seasons while Roger won 20 in 16 seasons. Nadal has won 22 slams in eighteen seasons. Novak has a winning record against both Roger and Nadal. Novak has appeared in more finals, semi finals and is one quarter final away from matching Roger's quarter final appearances. Novak has beaten more top ten players than either Nadal and Federer. Lastly, Novak has had tougher opponents on the way to those finals appearances. Having said that, I loved watching Roger Federer's style of play more than any other player in history. That still doesn't mean that Roger is a better player than Novak. Nobody has the mental toughness that Novak has.

It was never even close for people who actually follow tennis. Most grand slams, joint most atp finals, most masters, most weeks ranked #1. All the stats show you it's Djokovic. On top of that, he's also the only player to have won at least 3 of every slam. People can prefer Federer and Nadal, but they're not better than Djokovic. All these stats become even more impressive when you realise Novak also definitely lost a few slams due to covid. Would've definitely won Wimbledon in 2020 if it wasn't cancelled. Would almost certainly have won at least one of the US and Australian opens in 2022. He could easily be on 26/27 by now but it doesn't matter. He'll surely still win a few more and further cement his status as the goat.

Nadal can become the goat again if the situation becomes this one:
      Djokovic has 24 slams.
Nadal leads in h2h in slams
Nadal leads in h2h in non-slams.
And if you bring up that nadal leads the h2h in slams only because of most matches were on clay, then i say that's not nadal's fault.
If you say that Nadal avoided non-clay tournaments and only played clay-tournaments, all just to get a better h2h with djokovic, then the argument back is that
Nadal was allowed to do so.
Come on Rafa, you can do it! !

he has been the GOAT since about 2018, it has never been a debate, even the most die hard Fedal fans know and accept. once he leveled with Rafa and RF, they started arguing that RF has great hair and that Rafa has big muscles and both are loved instead of using the yardstick measurement they were using before. Now they are throwing the most women's GS in there, which was unheard of when rafa was chasing Fed and before. he has since conquered that...next they are going to start judging him of wheelchair slams etc. It is beyond ridiculous.
Yes this era is pretty weak but he has dominated the greatest era from 11-16 (2008-2017, was the greatest era).
If he wasn't barred from entering tournaments and events being canceled he would have 100% won more slams and his NO1 record would be way north of 400 weeks.

@@darkocvijan1684 these sorts of comments show just how irrational people can get. now we are comparing people of different sports. if one is talking probability, novak's number of slams is not that remarkable, as 2 others already have similar numbers. if i had to pick one athlete who may hold the most unbreakable record, it would be bill russell and 11 out of 13 nba championships. people talk about slams, now. but slams were not always the biggest thing. throughout most of tennis history, one's season was the most important. ken rosewall won 4 of his slams, early in his career. he won the other 4 late in his career. during all those peak years, he didnt play, because he was professional. yes, the winners of all those slams were never the best tennis players - they were amateurs. any guess as to how many slams rosewall would have had, if he could have played them ? this is the reason you can compare generations. way too many differences. today, novak only wants to play in slams. that did not happen in yesteryear, cuz slams did not have that sort of attachment. also give these players wood rackets to play with, and lets see how good they look - LOL.

Rafa's going to have one huge problem when he comes back for Roland Garros: he's going to come in unseeded, and would have literally the toughest draw he's ever faced in major. Combine that with the fact that there are more excellent "specialists" on clay than any other surface, and you can imagine a draw where he might have to face 5 or even 6 top-20 players, including potential back-to-back Djokovic and Alcaraz - and imagine possibly having to face Ruud or Zverev in the first round. Hard enough in your prime, but in your late 30s it's really helpful to have a couple of early "easy" matches that come with a high seed. Really, it's the same issue Murray and Stan have been facing since their comebacks - good enough to beat anyone on a given day, but not to make it through a murderer's row of seeded opponents almost every tournament.

In between those 2 Calendar Grand Slams! And he still got 11. I personally believe he would have won 30 or thereabouts. Djokovic has 24 but he has won the bulk of them against Federer and Nadal! (And Murray in form!) That's what makes his 24 slams so unbelievably great! Now all that's left really, is to beat Carlos Alcaraz in a Grand Slam final and reach 25 slams. Then will he be the undisputed GOAT! And he WILL reach 25 so long as the numbers don't get to him... 🙏🏽

Djokovic missed 4 grand slams in his absolute prime due to Covid and the US open incident. He would have had 26/27 at least. 🐐

This wouldn't even have been a question if it were Nadal or fed that had the most GS

Anyway I think that most important stay is not the slam titles, but the most weeks at N. 1, because that stat take all the titles

Why is this still a question, oh my goddd. There hasn't been a clearer answer in list of GOAT debates across any sport.

Roger won his 1st slam in 2003 at 21st age, when Djokovic turned Pro. Since 2003 RF dominated the game like no one did. Djokovic won his slam in 2008 but he has to wait again for 3 years for his next slam, because Roger & Nadal are still competing with each other. Till that time, he maintained his ranking below Roger & Nadal, because Djokovic is the next best player. After Roger started losing to anybody, Djokovic started winning slams slowly.
Watching Roger game, feels he born to play tennis. slice, single handed back hand, mixing of shots, winning easy matches.
Whereas Novak game is more physical, same as Rafa. Like, if you have to keep winning you need to work harder than other players.
For me difference between Roger & Djokokovic , is like a difference between brilliant & hardworking student, both are getting good numbers.

Federer is actually VERY lucky that Nole and Rafa are younger, if they were his age,
he would NEVER even be the part of these conversations.

The problem for d Western countries is that he is from Serbia. I prefer Nadal but Djokovic is a beast

But serbia only depends on djokovic while spain produces great ATP players such as nadal, alcaraz, ferrer, moya, and so forth

@@wimzswimz9843It's not about the number of players each country produce but it's about who is the greatest. As much as I love Nadal but I can't deny that Djokovic is better than him

The debate is settled. He is the best. It would take atleast 15 years for anyone else to get there and reopen the debate.
