Yikes. despite not really playing the game much anymore, I really just hope that when they do pull the plug on LBP, they pull a mario maker, and still keep the community levels up, I don't know if that is realistic, (or even possible,) but dang. losing over ten million stages of work and passion would suck.

It's honestly pretty commendable considering who old this game is and how they really don't get anything from keeping it up granted it's barely alive.

@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd I'd prefer an LBP sequel but at the same time i don't trust Sumo to make a functional sequel after LBP3. That is unless Tarsier Studios was brought back.
Let's be real, the servers are extremely fragile, theyre running on chop sticks and glue, if they give this game a stronger developer, i will bet you my whole life modders and hackers won't touch CRAP
It's a "tower of duct tape" problem, just like how Source 2 still has code dating back to the freakin' Quake game engine. The LBP1/2 servers were made in a time before "security for console game multiplayer servers" was actually taken seriously, and due to inherited code debt and a duty of backwards compatibility for old levels, LBP3 has most of the same issues. Unfortunately, the only real fix would be for LBP4 (if there ever _might_ be a 4th game) to just from-scratch literally everything, no backward compat (not that the old servers and levels will exist for much longer at this rate), a security-first mindset, and - ideally - to be built by Media Molecule themselves rather than farmed out to other studios.
@@WackoMcGoose yeah I'm like it's either Mm wake up and do something with LBP since they ended their live service for Dreams, or this issue continues to happen because I'm really not trusting sumo with LBP anymore. Idc about old levels I just want a game that's active and playable like LBP2

As someone who literally played lbp yesterday, this game means so much to me. I can confidently say that it’s one of my favorite games of all time. While I completely understand the lack of support for the game, (as it’s old and held together by duct tape and Elmer’s glue) I can’t help but feel sad about the state its been left in and the inevitable shutdown of the servers. Guess I’d better enjoy it while it lasts.
Dude if you thought this game was the best you would’ve had your mind blown during the first 2, those were masterpieces with none of the issues this game had

And to clarify, I’m also pretty upset about the first two games getting shut down, it’s just lbp3’s servers getting shut down means there won’t be any way of playing anything little big planet online ever again. Right now, I’m just glad there’s a version we can still play.(even if it’s buggy as hell.)

This is honestly sad, as someone who hasn't played lbp 3 in 6 years, this is sad to me because it was my childhood game. The only ps4 game I've ever played (besides megaman legacy collection) but honestly, i really agree with you here man. 😭
Lbp 1 and 2 were my childhood and we went through the same thing, servers got shut down by hackers and the millions of community levels got deleted, so much passion and hard work deleted
If people continue these malicious activities, we will lose the LBP3 server. Let’s hope they actually bring it back.
I hope they don't close it because of technical complexity.LBP3 literally does not have a dev team backing it right now, so whomever does patches for it is either outsourced or some people internally taken out of their normal tasks to look at this. Either way, it's expensive and tedious for a game that is getting old.

I don’t think it was a taken kindly that Sony cut support so early after they promised 10 years. But Dreams just didn’t have enough players.

I'm surprised they never ported LBP to pc, with steam workshop it'd likely be huge.
Agreed, they would generate a lot of sales because a lot of former playstation players have likely moved on to PC by now.
At this point they'd just be better off making an lbp4 carrying everything over from the other games. I'm convinced this will keep repeating until Sony finally steps in and just forces Sumo Digital to pull the plug. It still annoys me that they completely acknowledge the community's want for a Littlebigplanet 4 and then just go completely radio silent as if a Littlebigplanet 4 couldn't be one of ps5's best selling titles similar to the original lbp if they went through with making it.

About the point you brought up at the end, it would probably cost more to legally pursue the people responsible for things like this than LBP3 makes. It’s probably cheaper, and better in terms of publicity for them to quietly fix the issue, as the LBP community is such a small one.
The lbp community was actually still decently big and then they shut down lbp1/2 and most of us left for good, all that remains are new players and stragglers

I feel, since we got that job listing like 2 years ago, we might get lbp 4, or sackboy big adventure. Really soon, and im thinking, if LBP 3's servers stay down, there more and likely making lbp 4, just due to 10 million levels down the drain, and all of that dlc they made for lbp 1 2 and 3, would just go to waste, it wouldn't make sense, and it took them 3 years to make lbp 3, and if they were starting development 2 years ago, we might get it this year or next. Also this game is basically asking for it for how many times servers go down. Which would rather them just making a new game and just stop worrying about LBP 3. So all i'm saying is, servers might be down for a while, but in a good way, we need to wait, and see if this brand new game will fill are needs and replace lbp 3 and bring all of those levels back.

I'm just getting the 403 error my friend and I were developing a adventure time story game and the next day we were offline on lbp I tried searching on Google if the servers shut down but then lbp union showed the tweet and I'm like ain't no way
I know it will never happen but it’s times like this where I wish they just made a fourth game I feel like it would’ve benefited the community

The servers stand on the edge of a knife, tilt just a little and it will fall. It’s also running on potato energy at this point but I still enjoy creating on there.

The game is 10 years old and 7 years ago LittleBigPlanet 4 has showcase but that was still when PS3 had some games so I hope they have LittleBigPlanet 4 for PS3 regardless if Sony moved on from PS3

Oh... I feel a little silly leaving a comment on the previous video, but this doesn't feel right... This is exactly what happened when the PS3 servers were shut down. Iirc, they shut them down to investigate what was going on, realised that it's just not worth putting more duct tape on the already botched source code, and they just let the games die. I don't see why this won't happen for LBP3 as well, it's a decade old game now and I really don't see what incentive Sony has to keep the last beacon of hope alive.

Are you playing a remake of one of Victoria's levels from LBP2?
If we could just get a port of LBP2 to PS4/5 with the necessary patches , assuming Sony decided to finally put some effort into maintaining the game and finally decided to listen to the players, that would be perfect. But I lose hope for that or even LBP4 every day.
Also as of now, 6:09 PM est, I can’t connect on PS4 to LBP3 servers. Idk if its an issue on my part or servers are back down, but so far no luck.
Or a fixed lbp3 without bugs, Lbp3 would be the best instantly with no annoying lag issues and bugs

I'd prefer an LBP 4 at this point that carries everything over from the other games onto the PS4/PS5. As likely as that is (hell we're probably getting GTAVI before we get LBPIV) i think that would be nice mainly because it's not rehashing an older game and we finally get some new LBP content that could be brought to the masses and give some life to the game again.
This is why I am happy that a spiritual successor (Restitched) is coming out

@@pillbuggihuh? The license to Lbp has been owned by Sony when media molecule signed their contract for funding making Lbp also a ps exclusive which was before the first game even release (around 2006 I believe) media molecule never owned Lbp they just developed it. It always has been owned by Sony

I haven't been up to date for a long time because I only have a PS3. I've been looking into getting a PS4 (I don't have enough for a ps5) but is it worth it? I'm scared of buying a PS4 and the servers being shut down forever again (sorry if i spelled anything weird, english isn't my first language)
I have a ps3 and ps4 and I find myself using the ps3 more since it has a much better catalog of games, yes the graphics aren’t as good but games are a lot more then that, and most new games are only being made for ps5 so I personally wouldn’t but up to you, also you can get 10 masterpiece ps3 games for the same price as 1 ps4 games

Imo if issues start to become more persistent, i feel like the game's servers should be taken offline permanently, it could also stem into much bigger problems and become a bit of a liability on sony's behalf.

They need to set up a multiple server system that tracks the hackers and redirects the hackers to the other servers every time they log in so they will be hacking other hackers without even knowing they are all on different servers than the players that just want to play.
