Anyway, I'm just starting to check out the video, I tried to learn dominions 5 for a long time but I never really got it, I could never figure out what spells to use, what gear to construct, and not really what to do either, when and how much to site search (i like using the spells for it, but I assume they're not very efficient, or are they?, and how about that astral spell for 25 pearls that'll search for everything in a province? I love that one but surely high level players don't use it?) if you touch on these subjects in the video you can ignore this question. And well obviously feel free to ignore it either way, I'm in no position to demand answers.
I do talk about some of these, as for site searching, you should do it as much as possible but just have a few mages constantly roaming around searching everywhere. Spells are not often worth the gem investment except for a few of them like Voice of Tiamat. However it can be worth to use a spell on a province which has higher chance of having sites like a forest/swamp/highland/mountain. The Astral spell you mention is a huge waste since astral pearls are very valuable and 25 is a lot. Maybe it is only worth it on a throne province since these always have multiple sites. One strategy is to take a god with low levels of every magic path and search with him.

I read somewhere that site searching beyond level 2 or 3 is usually a waste (perhaps not in some specific types or throne provinces) is that true? Is there any point to search for blood sites? I know I've seen a site at least once that gave me slaves, but they're really rare, right?
If you have a mage searching who has blood it’s fine, but they are so uncommon I wouldn’t bother if it’s only for blood. Better to have your cheap blood mages just blood hunting instead in any high pop province.
@@CairnEnjoyer Thanks, one last question(s) about blood hunting, you get less of there's unrest right, or is it just that you get less money when there's unrest? I tend to blood hunt, then if there's unrest, more than just a little bit at least, I'll stop until it's gone down (I usually have people patrolling or at the very least enough PD to get some unrest reduction). Is that the right way to do it, or should I always blood hunt? And how about how many mages to do it, are there diminishing returns if you use more than one of the same province?
Yes you get fewer slaves if there is high unrest, but it depends on the level of the hunter and other things, best option is to recruit a small army of cheap units and have them patrol there constantly, or maybe just move the mage to another province if they continuously get nothing. Blood hunting is harder now in Dom6 because there are more events where locals kill your blood mage.
Hey, I couldn't find an answer to this but is there a way to check the composition of independent armies? What I mean is if the army is made of troglodytes is there a way to check their description, stats etc the way one can do with their own troops when right-clicking on them? I got my ass kicked by twenty troglodytes or so and my main guy died and I don't want to repeat the same mistake. Thanks.
In game you can only review enemy units when you are in-battle with them. Otherwise I’d say check out the Dominions 6 Mod Inspector larzm42.github.io/dom6inspector/ and search for whichever unit you see in the scout report. Alternatively, you can “ping” a province by sending a single commander to battle it so you can get an accurate image of the force.

Played dom 4 for a good bit... I did not know there was a 5th, let alone 6. Welp there goes atleast 400 hours

Reports might vary turn by turn so that gives you a better idea of army size, and scouts can give a more accurate number.
