The tires in this video are 26x14-12 at 3psi. They are fast swimmers. I now have a set of 16 inch wide Vendettas on the machine. They seem better in the mud but swim slightly slower.
That Max is pretty quick! I dont own a 6x6 but I was expecting them to be a little slower. I am wanting to get one and have been researching them and came across your video. Pretty cool!
@@alcopower5710 One thing I like about the Max is they have the T20 transmission, which I have learned can be modified to make it a zero turn machine instead of a skid steer machine. You can modify the forward/reverse levers on the transmission to make the wheels/tracks on one side go forward while the other side goes backwards. The mod seems simple to do. I am kinda leaning towards a Max 2 or 4 for this reason. Who knows though. I also like the Argo Bigfoot series too. Lol
How fast is your Max IV? I'm doing a complete frame out restoration on my 97 MAX IV but it wasn'tvery fast at all before I started the rebuild. I was lucky if it would do 10-12mph. It's getting a new clutch and belt for the T20 as well as all new bearings and Im upgrading the rear axles with slinded axles and gears. Mine has a 20hp Kohler Command that ill be replacing the the coils on and giving it a new carburetor also. I keep reading and seeing that the Max IV should do around 25-27mph flat out but again mine wouldn't do more than 10mph. What else do I need to do to get my speed back up? I was also looking at going with solid engine mounts because the rubber mounts the engine stand sits on now flexes so much that I could see the engine dip down on the clutch side. Also my belt was so loose that if I squeezed the belt together in-between the two clutchs I could nearly get the belt to touch. Too loose I'm guessing? Any advice to get my max back up to speed would be helpful. Thanks
It's that fast with "bolt ons"? I have a 96 Max IV with a Kohler Command 20 and I'm lucky if I can 20hp at of it. I plan on doing a complete restoration on it and rebuilding the T-20 in it. Any ideas on why mine is so slow?
I will be looking to get one soon I had called the place and then went to the hospital and my phone cleared my info I had. I think he said it came with a 29 hp also. I was wondering the power to weight ratio on them but never got that far into it. It is a big investment for me and I want to get it right the first time.

Yeah I’ve been researching amphibs as well and really tossed up between an Argo and a Max iv.

U had major issues@ 10mph
If you could only have one set for all around (ie. Gravel, dirt, big rocks, and mud) 6 wheelin', would you choose these Vendettas or the Adair tracks?
Hello, please tell me the size of your tires, my max dont work in the water.
What do you have for exhaust?
Kohler Command 25HP with a few bolt ons. Lets an old guy like me with no hearing know it's running.

What kind of motor does that Max have? Tires look a lot like the Argo Frontier tire. As good? Better?
How quiet can it be made to run?
A Max IV with a stock exhaust isn't too awfully noisy. There should be lots of videos of Max IVs with stock exhausts floating around.
