Damo's aunt and uncle are truly wonderful people. So friendly and outgoing. He's a regular mad scientist for sure. 😂❤. They live so cheaply but I think they go without extras like we have in the west. Just little things that make life easier and enjoyable. Wonderful vlog. Enjoyed very much. I really appreciate the locals letting us into their lives. Like the hill people too. Keep up the great content. Hugo is getting so big. Damo is such a good Mom. ❤

Great Vlog guys. I'm always interested in what the Thai people do themselves to earn a crust and make ends meet.
It's funny to see how the Thai people always find a way to make stuff work. It's not always pretty but it works.
I remember helping out with the building of a wall around the perimeter of a Thai persons property and was told not too worry too much about how it was done....this is how it's done in Thailand. That was all I needed to know. Things get done....just a bit different too what I would be used to. But it works and that's all that matters

  • @fhorst02

Wonderful flog again. Few things doesn't add up.
The rice mill, it looks amazing, but absolutely isn't running of the 3 panels!
We have visited several mills and they all have their own special tweaks :-)
But.. +/- 3000 watt motors for this size..
8000 THB, 25 per bag, say 350 bags. 45kg takes about 20 minutes,
Their electricity bill alone should be about 4-5000 THB.
Perhaps the 8000 is after deducting the electricity cost?
50k for 3 solar panel setup?
Probably including the pump, inverter and battery.
    But even then, expensive.
(Sorry, we live off grid, so I'm in the know.. prices and equipment)
    3 panels + pump + gel battery + inverter.. 20k is doable.
I guess a bit like the house...
Sadly i see this a lot.
Poor people kept poor by people asking exorbitant prices..
800k for that "skeleton build".. that's steep!
And there lies also the downside of village..
If he doesn't ask the builders in the village, they are offended and won't bring their rice.
If he makes a problem about the high cost.. same same..
    Brave man and woman!

Brilliant vlog Damo and Ryan. Beautiful property with a lot of projects. Yes if old. really old, or have a knee injury at any age, stairs are a challenge. An old friend of mine's grandfather built a house in the 20's and in the 70's added a homemade hydraulic elevator as they needed it! Yes, alcohol helps forget pain and loss. Very true and honest speech on alcohol by Damo's Uncle.Thank you. Peace and Love

Thanks for your small part too Ryan. 🙂What an amazing rice machine. With all those wheels and belts and the wooden winnowing parts, it reminded me of the old windmills that used to make flour, before modern machinery took over. God bless you and the family 🙏❤😀

It is sad, that alcoholism is so widespread in rural Tailand as one bottle of laokau 35-40% cost less than a bottle of beer.
Question please: One solar panel cost 3-4000,-B That is 12-15000,- for the three panels. What made the thing cost 50000,- ???

Self proficiency is a merit these days I think.
We've come to the point where convenience and the relience thereof is used =against= the people.
It takes skill and careful planning to live completely off grid
I could not imagine to be without electricity for even half a day.
A lot going on in the rice machine.. takes you right back to the 1st industrial revolution :=)

Including his decision by earning money is the best by a Christian man who also info about it too. Now his whole body is getting wealthy & healthy like drinking by adding milk to make his body more strong. Now I'm glad that his enjoying his own positive decision on how to earn more money for making his house like yours by enjoying his animal sounds including looking at the plants that's his making and caring about it too.

@@DiscoDrew Yeah, you ''say'' everything in moderation... but I've yet to meet a drinker who sticks to that. In fact drinking is immoderate by its very nature.
