It would be nice if you have an overhead camera so the mixing can be captured for the viewers as the mixing happens in the bowl. Nice demo though. Thanks for posting.
It WAS a 650-watt mixer 5 years ago when this video was made. Now they are 500 watts, but that seems to be enough for whole grain especially if the dough is not too stiff. (I always use a high-hydration dough, so am not concerned about that.)

I like the built in dough hook extender.
The extender acts as a bowl scraper the kneading action is different I would have to test one of these myself to accept or at least sample bread made with this unit.

When I'm making bread doughs with my new artiste, I hear a loud click and then when I finish kneading and take the bowl out the middle piece that attaches from the bottom of the bowl is loose and the 2 white plastic washers are spinning and not down. What could be doing this?
has this machine been just as capable as the bosch? I am trying to decide between the stainless steel version of the bosch or getting the artiste with an extra stainless steel bowl. pricewise they come to around the same. the benefit of the artiste option is having 2 bowls and i dont need the blender hub. im more worried about themotor and size comparison (foot print)
The Artiste does a great job and can handle the same bowl capacity as the Bosch. I would say it is a good comparable budget friendly mixer.
Do you know whether there is an available metal bowl for the Nutrimill Artiste to handle hot ingredients (like an Italian meringue)?

How easy is it to clean that lid, vs the 2-part Bosch Universal lid?
The lid is 2 piece.
I have to say that with this machine I have done the best breads and all kind of doughs! My doughs have never been so soft and delicious! And I have done the most delicious ice creams! I'm in love! but, that is all that I like...I had and have great trouble with the foot of the meat grinder because it doesn't fit, only the one leg works which is for the Bosch not the Artiste, and I have to hold it with one hand because it's not stable and the machine moves, I have great trouble with the large shredder because the cover doesn't fit in my bowl. I received a new one, and that one also doesn't fit. This machine has nothing at all that can go to the dishwasher, it has to be washed by hand or looses it's shape. Since I bought it, I had to ask for many new parts even without using it! At this point in time, everything can go into a dishwasher, even dollar store stuff, yet this machine seems to be made very cheap and it's quite expensive to buy it and the accessories are another expense. Sometimes I'm scared to even look at it for if it breaks, and it only has one year guarantee, so poor me if that year passes and gets broken! Strong and good machines have longer warranties!. So think hard before getting this machine or the Bosch which is almost the same as they share most of the accessories and parts. I love Bosch, have many things with this brand, but I don't know why this machine was so poorly thought. Only the motor is very strong. This machine needs a redo, good thinking and materials that will last and can be washed in the dishwasher. Otherwise, as beautiful as it seems to be, the price and the time to enjoy it, are not worth it.
Did I miss something are was there only one rise?
Hi Vicki! That is correct, there is only one rise when you are using a Bosch Mixer as the dough hook folds in a lot of air and works the gluten really well
Well 1 year later I am now the proud owner of an Artiste. I have been making bread for about 2 weeks. I finally decided to only do the one rise with the dough in the pan...oh my gosh! My bread was beautiful. I can now put a fresh loaf of bread on the table in less than an hour and a half. Wow!

So in fact....the artiste has the same bowl than the universal plus?
The bowl is not quite as large as as the Bosch Universal Plus bowl, so instead of making 4 - 2lb. loaves of Whole Wheat bread like we can in the Bosch Universal Plus, we make 3 of the same in the Artiste mixer. It holds 5.5 Qt. instead of 6 Qt. like the Bosch Universal Plus bowl.
