If you wanna keep making your own sweater patterns, I recommend looking into the Elizabeth Zimmermann Percentage System. Unless you like messing things up at least once every time you start something (which i suspect you kinda do 😂), there are so many great resources to learn how to design.
I love oversized and roomy sweaters, especially in very cold weather. I think it would have been a great look if you continued with it bigger than you intentioned.
Love your knitting and crochet videos! To be honest, I love all your videos, you are such an inspiration to just go out and make things without worrying too much. (On another note, love the grey sweater, blue jeans and gold necklace, hair in a bun look)
Atm I’m really depressed and I just want to say thank you ❤️ You make me laugh and it’s just a highlight of my day. You don’t know how much you mean to some of us Jenna. Thank you for making these videos. I don’t know what I would do without them
Here in NZ the mostly UK knitting patterns start raglan from the bottom up using separate needles & circular only for the neck. When adjusting for diffrrent weight wools I find separate needles much easier to work with & check correct sizing as you go. Love your videos Jenna. This one was too funny❤
Jenna, I love your videos! Your content is exactly what I need to get me through the challenges of life. Your humor and willingness to try new things and make mistakes is so incredibly refreshing. Thank you for everything you do. I hope you share a pattern for this sweater, as it is exactly what I want to make! 😊
I love how you are ‘all in’ with all your projects. Btw there is a great video on YT titled ‘How to Turn Your Fingering Yarn into Chunky Yarn with Stephen West’ on the Knit Stars channel. He shows how to triple the yarn strands as you go. It’s genius!
I need this pattern. I hope it turns out. I'm totally loving you, Jenna!! I needed these smiles! I'm watching and eating candy corn for supper, cause Jenna said I can!
Nice to see that even you make mistakes sometimes. Thanks for keeping them in the video. It was worth it to rip it back. It's looking good. Your videos are helping me recover from a broken hip. Thanks for posting. Yes. You deserve your own camera. So exciting.
Im a left handed knitter, and the first item I made was a raglan cardigan, followed by raglan jumper and it's still my go to. I was really surprised when other Knitter's were like 'hey you are working top down? That's weird!'. It was all I knew!! Much quicker to knit raglan than straight and sew!
Thank you Jenna, enjoy watching your videos. It so real, knitting and crocheting you work rows and then it happens it’s not right and you frog parts. However in the end when completed I’m sure your creativity will shine ✨. 🥰
I spent a million hours knitting a top and realized (once I had finished it!!!) that it's double the size I need. Which explains why it took so long... Watching you frog this is giving me the push I need to remake mine! And to also try it on as I go hahah.
Jenna you should look into adding German short rows at the back of your sweater, otherwise you get issues where the neck becomes too high in the front and too low in the back. You can also see part of the issue when you turned side on whilst wearing it and the front hangs down much further than the back. They’re way easier to do than people realise and so worth it!
Jenna you have made my day. Thank you so much for your wonderful character, gorgeous dogs and creativity that you share with us. I so look forward to them. Sometimes wish they were daily.
I love your work. I have a suggestion for you, when a person does a lot of work looking down it helps to put a cushion on your lap to bring your work a little closer. My neck is destroyed because I looked down for my work for thirty years. I hope this helps❤️
I started a top down sweater three months ago. It had a gorgeous lacy pattern down the front, if you have to unpick ( which I did) you have to unpick THE WHOLE GARMENT. Its now got a cable down the front
There are a series of books by Ann Budd that provide sweater recipes with all the calculations you need for whatever yarn you want to use. I like "The knitter's Handy book of Top Down Sweaters- basic designs in multiple sizes and gauges". Love your videos!
It took me like 3 months to finish my latest halloween sweater, so I commend you on trying to speed run your knits lol. Sweaters be taking a hella long time to make by hand. Also I can't believe there's no pattern for a chunky raglan top down sweater, thats crazy! I think i used a youtube video tutorial to figure out my first one, which was my very first whole sweater. The colors in this are gorgeously vibrantand so you!
i absolutely love the energy in your videos. it inspires me so much. i’ve been really wanting to knit a raglan sweater for a while but the math had seemed a little daunting, but i think i’m gonna try to tackle it now!
The amount of times I've watched a tutorial, read a pattern that says "this pattern requires a long tail cast on" NO ONE TOLD ME WHY. FOR THE STRETCH. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE.
Bless you for posting a video lol currently recovering from aspirated pneumonia at home and definitely needed a video to cheer me up. You're doing great on the sweater!
I don't knit, I've never knitted but I love your channel. I do make off loom beaded jewellery & my dog (she's a mini dachshund jack Russell cross, she's Penny)sits in her bed at my feet quietly (kinda) snoring. Sending hugs from a stormy & very wet England xx
I wasn't feeling it in the first two colors, but the further you went......oh. my. Goodness! So darn (haha pun) cute! Super sad you had to rip, but keep your faith. This sweater will be amazing and one you'll have for years ❤❤❤❤❤
if you want a chunky raglan sweater recipe, then you should look at either Hobbii's recipes (like the Bobby sweater) or PetiteKnit (the Louisiana is really nice - was my first sweater) 😌
Hi Jenna, love the video! For anyone out there, there is a free pattern for a raglan sweater made with aran/chunky yarn (I believe the recommended needle size is 7mm) by two of wands, called the winter league sweater :) I have not made it yet but it is on my list of projects, it is the chunky version of her autumn league sweater which I made last year and got a ton of compliments on
The RUclips guy, The crochet crowd, has a really cool snowflake pattern that would look cute on a sweater or afghan. Thought of you when I saw it. I could see you even making snowflakes for your windows. Lol
Raglan sweaters are pretty easy to wing, it’s a matter of measuring mainly. I saw a video on RUclips once that was just the construction basics and placing your increases etc and I feel like once you learn all of that, you can make it work in whatever stitch pattern you want.
In Icelandic we have a word for that kind of weather, it's "gluggaveður" (window weather). It looks super nice out the window but soon as you get out it's not nice at all 😅
It's ok for it to be big. It's a chunky sweater, the expectation is that you're going to layer under it. Trust me, it's fine. Especially with ribbing at the bottom.
I didn't think the video was too long at all, I loved it! You always manage to brighten my days with your content. Just one ask, please. I really miss your thrifting videos, hopefully there will be one soon?
hi jenna!! if you ever wanted to make another raglan sweater with chunky yarn with a pattern my personal fav is the Louisiana Sweater by petiteknit. I've made it twice before with chunky yarn and it's super easy to follow and I LOVED my results ((:
If you do make you sweater a little roomy you can put more layers on underneath when it’s extremely cold ❤❤ , bless you love t watch your videos and see your creativity and the fur kids 😂❤
I'd love it if you talked more about the equipment you use to film! My microphone hates me, so I've been trying to do all the research, but the internet is confusing. 😂 I'd also love it if you released the sweater pattern! I've been looking for one like it and you're right! They just don't exist!

Jenna had fun editing this one hahah i love it
I really did 😂
The transitions had me giggling!
@@mandeliongardens sameeeee
RIGHT?!?! 😂
I love how the video just devolved into chaotic transitions and children's cartoon music. I'm so here for it 😂

Jenna you inspire me so much I literally talk about crochet with my grandma now 😂
This makes me so happy
as someone who is making a king sized blanket in crotchet LOOKING AT YOUR VIDS GIVE ME SO MUCH INSPO TO WHAT TO PUT ON IT
Binging your videos rn is getting me through some stuff. Love to you and the doglets
The amount of serotonin I receive from seeing a new Jenna video is insane.
Love your knitting and crochet videos! To be honest, I love all your videos, you are such an inspiration to just go out and make things without worrying too much.

"I just realised every fall season I knit a sweater"
**It's fall.**

Im from NZ and could only find top down. Twas a disaster
@sillysewer Really! Must have been US patterns. I never use those as I can't understand their sizing. UK easier as metric like us.

I'm super into crochet and haven't tried knitting, but you really make me want to try and knit something❤️
I'm a knitter who recently started sewing, so I have the opposite problem that you do - I keep calling my thread "yarn" 🤣
Nice to see that even you make mistakes sometimes. Thanks for keeping them in the video. It was worth it to rip it back. It's looking good. Your videos are helping me recover from a broken hip. Thanks for posting. Yes. You deserve your own camera. So exciting.

Jenna you have made my day. Thank you so much for your wonderful character, gorgeous dogs and creativity that you share with us. I so look forward to them. Sometimes wish they were daily.
I love how it’s coming along! I’m knitting my first raglan sweater as well and I’m just going with the flow for it. It all comes together in the end
I love your work. I have a suggestion for you, when a person does a lot of work looking down it helps to put a cushion on your lap to bring your work a little closer. My neck is destroyed because I looked down for my work for thirty years. I hope this helps❤️

Grading patterns can be tricky i have a soreadsheet and still triple check my numbers to make aure each size is correct. Great job!! I love it.
Jenna. Live and learn. Enjoy watching you and your adventures in creating
The music at the end was very cute
You kept me crackin up, as always! Looking forward to part 2 ❤

😢😢😢😢😢 i would watch a whole hour of this. Can't wait for next week! And now I want to leave all my crochet wips and pick up the knitting needles 😅
You’re making the world a better place with all your passion and creativity ❤️ love your new sweater!
Such a pretty design! Well done for self drafting! It reminds me of the Kelowna Sweater by Tara Lynn-Morrison, one of my first ever projects!
Love the colors you chose!!!! Excited to see the finished product!
Fantastic! I love knitting sweaters, they are so much fun. Thank you for sharing. See you next week. ❤❤❤❤❤
Your fur babies are just so precious and adorable 🥰
I love chunky sweaters! I adore you for making your own clothes.

Jenna, we would absolutely sit through longer videos! ❤
I'm literally obsessed with your videos
Kara’s knit eng makes a lot of chunky knitting patterns that I think would be your style! she has a RUclips channel

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃👻
i absolutely love watching your videos! you give me so much motivation and inspiration jenna!
I knit raglans bottom up because its easier to check the fit
This video is getting dangerously close to the amount of chaos and insanity of a Brian David Gilbert video. And I mean this as a great compliment!
I love the way you use colours! I also love the grey sweater, if you see this please let me know where it's from :)
yess one for the knitters! cannot wait for the pattern
The video edits were chefs kiss
We need a pattern! 🤩
Agreed!!

I like chunky sweater. Especially raglan!
I'm making my first raglan sweater too! It's a V-neck granny crochet sweater. ❤
Thank you for showing us the process like this ☺️ i love it
It's ok for it to be big. It's a chunky sweater, the expectation is that you're going to layer under it. Trust me, it's fine. Especially with ribbing at the bottom.

I am relearning how to knit because of you! I'm hoping to make more knitting content on my channel. Im also knitting a raglan sweater for my husband!
@Click_Profile._for_.more._info is this real?
I'd love it if you talked more about the equipment you use to film! My microphone hates me, so I've been trying to do all the research, but the internet is confusing. 😂
I'd also love it if you released the sweater pattern! I've been looking for one like it and you're right! They just don't exist!
Would love a long Jenna Phipps video!
