    terrific comparisons, and articulate about the similarities and differences. great job. thanks. i've been enjoying the woodless arteza w/c pencils and their water brush set is quality for me. i finally understand why i don't use some pencils (like derwent watercolor pencils vs inktense which are ink, not watercolor) over others. and i think surfaces are the crucial element, as i prefer a hot press watercolor paper (like fabriano) vs a cold press paper of any brand. i'm less of a watercolorist and more of a color user in mixing medias as the mood strikes. your observations and applications are very useful. i think you could use your templates, make an ebook and sell it on etsy....

      Thank you so much. That’s a great idea. I’ll totally look into it.

    That might have something to do with it being cold pressed paper and and not a hot pressed paper it's a highly textured paper that you're using I'm just wondering if that might have something to do with it

    Make a sand paper dish to rub media on it for granules than can be wetted to create wash : pencils,sticks,bricks,etc.....

      Yes I’m ok. I have been working on a project that was supposed to take a few days it took almost a month. It’s been just busy. Some videos that aren’t live have required insane amounts of editing one video has over 480 edits and cuts 😱 and it’s just been a killer.
      I’ll go into it more on my next video.

      @@ColoringKaria I thought of you on Tuesday and was going to say it, but forgot.
      Lost a couple of fillings so I have to get a dentist through the gov't. Luckily it doesn't hurt.
      I have been watching a LOT of rescue kitty videos lately. Just totally hooked. Korea has loads of feral cats. People feed them, and if a kitty gets stuck somewhere, the whole neighborhood will show up to save it. They have a Pet Rescue team and people let them cut pipes and sides of houses to save the kitties. But after a cat is spayed or neutered, they are fine to just let them be feral.

    When I use these watercolor pencils I find they feel kinda smeary/slippery. Like the binder kind of sits on top rather than sinking into the paper. I don't think they do as well in coloring books as the Faber Castel Albrecht Durer. They just seem streaky because of the slippery binder.
    I love that color coyote, though.

    • @ColoringKaria
      @ColoringKaria  4 года назад +1

      Ah! I didn’t even think about that! You are right it is totally the binder! Yes you are right about that.

    • @vegasrenie

      Julie M - NOTHING is as good as the Durers, lol. I have the Arteza set and am buying the Durer open stock and there’s quite a difference in the feel of the lay down and in the dissolvability when activated. I use the Arteza more on their sides in order to get a smooth result. It doesn’t matter with the Durerep pencils because they’re smooth whether I use their points or sides.

      vegasrenie LOL I mostly agree. I LOVE my ADs but I will say the museum Aquarelle are really amazing. Very special pencils.

      vegasrenie you did say nothing was as good as the albretch durer, but if someone has a different budget than yours that’s not necessarily true. I try to remember that budget vary. If someone has the means for the museum Aquarelle pencils I would not want to discourage them as they amazing pencils. 😉

    • @bostonblackie9503
      @bostonblackie9503 4 года назад

      @@ColoringKaria In general. It is my understanding that Watercolour brushes are really ink. Are Watercolour pencils closer to the true watercolour media? If you have tried both which do you prefer?

    • @ColoringKaria
      @ColoringKaria  4 года назад

      So yes and no. SOME brands of watercolor markers are in fact ink but others claim at least to be real watercolor pigment and even give you the pigment numbers. It really depends. To me the closest to traditional watercolor are the museum aquarelle pencils by caran d ache. I have reviewed them and they are spectacular. They are also expensive $270+ for 72 colors. Second closest I would say is the albrecht durer watercolor markers. These blend and mix as well as many brands of watercolor paints. These I have also reviewed.
