      Not necessarily. In America, yes. But in the ICD-10, which is used in most of Europe instead of the DSM, it is still called multiple personality disorder as that is the correct way to refer to it according to the ICD.

      That must be so hard for the whole system.

    • @thedestroyasystem
      @thedestroyasystem 3 года назад +5

      @@MsGdlove Yeah, it is. Just... everything sucks right now. Just today I got a message telling me how all systems are faking, using a story about a system being mistreated by their psychiatrist as "evidence". In the same comment they claimed trans men weren't real (tranny here). And the other day, I saw a shirt that said "I have multiple personalities and none of them like you" which triggered one of our protectors near the front.
      And it all hurts, more than it should. Knowing that I can't even go to my own goddamn parents about it... one of our alters (who can't lie) told them more than she should've one time, and my dad, the one person I thought I could trust, just said "bullshit" and walked away. I've broken down nearly every day this week because I just feel like such a burden on everyone around me. This damn disorder affects every part of our lives and we can't even go to therapy for it because some of our greatest trauma was with medical professionals.
      Everything hurts all the time and I don't know how to deal with it. It's all too much. The only thing I feel anymore is guilt and denial. All my pain reflects in on myself. Maybe I really am crazy. Maybe I'm making this all up. Maybe I'm exaggerating. I don't know. Not knowing is what hurts the most.
      I don't know what to do. I don't know where to go from here. I have this desire to improve and absolutely no way to achieve that. This feeling of awfulness topped with the cherry of complete and utter helplessness.
      I'm sorry I know this must be rambly and you didn't ask but it's all so awful and we really have no one but each other. And most of the time I don't even have that. I'm sorry.

    I love Gaudi and well designed boats, tree houses, and smaller alternative living solutions. (Floating houses, cave apartments, etc. I have had the luck to live in or visit these types of places and the creative solutions are delightful.) Thank you for giving Bobo & Co the respect and shout out, they are such a lovable system, and Systems in the media need to keep interviewing, clearing the record and essentially make efforts so that the public can respond appropriately and respectfully. ....There was a lot of damage and bad information that needs to be fixed. I recently watched a video ("DissociaDID isn't the advocate you think they are"- by a lovely system with long green and black hair and baby bangs named Twilights Reign) and they went into some stuff that really surprised me. Particularly about the cross over of symptoms between DID and BPD. The Flooding, journaling, messiness- and also how most systems would like to be spoken to. Really worth watching. Thanks again for doing a great job of being respectful and informative, and serving some hot looks while you're at it! Your makeup and hair are gorgeous!!!

      When I watched her video she said it was a couple of american magazines as well. She didn't say which ones and I won't be reading them because it seems like a waste of my time knowing it's all skewed and mostly untrue. The news in american is bordering on propaganda, they all seem to have a agenda so instead of writing the facts or interviews they way they happen they write them in a way that makes the reader think a certain way. Such as in bos case where they are trying to sway the reader into not believing her D.I.D. unfortunately it happens on all levels of our media and you really have to read between the lines to get the truth.

    It’s disgusting that a professional journalist writing for a well known news site, and having met and spoken with Bobo & Co can write something as condescending, misleading and misguided as this... if someone on RUclips said this (as they have before many times) they get shot down in flames. Not to mention the affect it must be having on Bobo and Co, and everyone else living with DID. I don’t have DID and only know a limited amount about it, but I do know how wrong this is as an article and how it perpetuates the massive amount of misinformation about DID. I hope they write an apology and a statement correcting themselves, and I hope that Bobo & Co, and any others with DID who are negatively impacted by this can see how many people are reacting to it with outrage at their awful mess that they call ‘news’... thank you for speaking about it and continuing to spread awareness of what DID is and isn’t... and as I know you’re friends with Bobo & Co please pass on my message of support for them if you see this comment. Before I came to terms with the fact that I may have undiagnosed (don't worry, I'm getting help for it now) I would call the others my alter egos as... Protection? Like, I was of the mindset of "my trauma wasn't bad enough to give me DID, so I can't have it at all, I'm just making these other people my friends have told me about up in my head" and thus they weren't alters, they were alter egos. Even if I never remembered anything when the "alter egos" were fronting.

    I am assuming they used the quotation around the word shares, because it is meant to act like air quotes essentially denouncing the legitimacy of her statement. Imo.

    Architecture style? Hmm. Maybe the Hausmann style (from 19th century France, Paris specifically). Learned about it in uni and it's really beautiful. That's why France looks modern yet historic at the same time.

    Thank you so much. DID is so stigmatized. The words "claims to" made me SO MAD but your defense of people with DID made me cry. Thank you.

    • @minimariaandthecrew8811
      @minimariaandthecrew8811 3 года назад

      Not to mention since DID is caused by extreme, repetitive trauma before your personality has fused, "claiming" one has DID invalidates the trauma that person went through to develop DID in the first place. I personally do not see it as a disorder. I see it as a coping mechanism, as a way to survive.

      @@minimariaandthecrew8811 it starts as a coping mechanism and becomes a disorder when it affects your life to the point of difficulty functioning. Drugs and alcohol are also coping mechanisms but that doesn’t mean addiction isn’t a disorder, does it?

    • @minimariaandthecrew8811
      @minimariaandthecrew8811 3 года назад

      @@peachsystem1024 addiction is different. It's addiction. DID is a way to survive that which could kill you because you're too young to handle it.

    • @peachsystem1024
      @peachsystem1024 3 года назад

      @@minimariaandthecrew8811 it’s not different at all. Many people turn to drugs and alcohol when they’re very young and experiencing trauma in order to numb themselves from it, to survive. That doesn’t mean that once the trauma is over continuing to do drugs or alcohol is a good coping skill, even if it helped during the trauma. At that point you need to start recovering. Same with DID. Once you no longer *need* to constantly dissociate it’s unhealthy for you and you need to get help
