Virginia & Truckee #18: Wild West Comstock Steam

On the dates of June 29 and 30, 2024 ventured out to the “Queen of the Short Lines” or also known as the Virginia and Truckee Railway. The Virginia & Truckee Railway operates passenger trains from Carson City to Virginia City, Nevada on select dates and the locomotive that was leading the passenger train was former McCloud Railway Mikado no. 18. The McCloud Railway 18 has been a proud piece of the V&T since 2010 as it pulls steam passenger train rides from Carson City to Virginia City on a regular basis. If you want to ride something shorter the regular V&T train ride takes passengers from Virginia City to Gold Hill and back. If you're ever in the Lake Tahoe, Carson City, or Reno area please make sure to stop by and take a ride through the scenic wild west while being pulled by a vintage steam locomotive.
