Covering Cakes with Fondant: The Easy Way

I have been a cake artist for over 30 years and I always get asked what the easiest way of covering a cake is. I love using fondant because it is so easy to use and you can do so many different things with it once you get the trick. I have been using Satin Ice fondant for over 15 years and never have I ever had a problem with it.

I only have one question....how long do you keep the cake in the refrigerator before you wet and cover with fondant?

Hi Connie, Everything depends on the humidity of the refrigerator so when you see that the cake is hard and not soft you can go ahead and cover it. You might have to change the humidity level in the refrigerator so it is not sweaty and dries faster. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Hi Fenti, I have had mine for a long time and I purchased them at one of the cake shows. I would check out ATECO, The Sweet Chalet Shop Online, Cakes by Ximena, or Bake Supply Plus Online as they have a variety of cake supplies.
