this is why i love dominic howard. his groove with snares and toms are really good and i love listening to it !! just like this song, resistance, map of problematique to name a few :))
Fun Fact i'm pretty sure that this song was heavily inspired by Low by Foo Fighters ruclips.net/video/ySlZdASmGCM/видео.html That was the first thing I noticed When I Stockholm Syndrome came out in 2003. Actually I thought about Queens of the Stone Age. Well Dave wrote that song after recording and touring with QOTSA. So makes perfect sense.
I'm a beginner (5 days on drums) and i can already play the "slow" version you show before the fast, it's pretty easy actually i'm so happy haha I can also do the fast part but only once atm, can't do it repetitively. But i'll get it ! Thanks for the lesson it helps me a lot
Thanks guys this was really helpful. I had learnt an alternative way to play the tom groove watching Muse online :) this is gonna help me brush up well! Cheers
Thank you very much dude,, I'm french then I didn't understand all what you say, but I understood the majority, I know how to play now, thank's again! ( sorry for my english ^^ )
3:33 "If you can't play that fill or that exact beat that I'm talking aboot here, don't worry" 5:28 "If you only have two toms, play it on the floor tom" Dom only has 1 rack tom, he plays all the notes you play on the mid tom just on the floor tom. Why make this fill unnecessary complicated? Especially if you're teaching you would kinda expect that you would teach how it is played, not some random interpretation of it.
its206 haha it's weird - i was learning the song with a drum teacher years ago and for some reason he never spotted that either when teaching me the groove, until I pointed it out haha
i want to request to drumeo my lovely channel ever.may i request some learning about anything about jazz cause my behavior its playing jazz instrument specially for drums so i want and i need to know everything about jazz on the drums set that i know yet.so i hope drumeo have to respond my suggestion.thank you so much
fill from the song "Assassin" is pretty good also.
The tom groove in the verse is so tasty
My favorite Muse song as well. Awesome lesson!

Fun Fact: Dream Theater - Never Enough was *heavily* influenced by this song.
Yep Portnoy wrote it as a tribute to Muse, hes a huge fan of them. And it of course, turned out great :)

YES!, MUSE!
A first time hearing episode about This Master Piece ❤
Was really into muse when i was about 10... didn't understand the complexity of the music until now wow dom was doing all that?!
YES Ive been looking for something like this. I was only using the floor tom because I'm playing by ear. great vid guys!
+Shivam D (DrumsAndBrass) I'm not sure if it uses two rack toms, as Dom only uses one so it might only be between the floor tom and one rack tom
+Shivam D (DrumsAndBrass) The mid tom is bullshit, you're probably playing it correctly already.
Excellently broken down and explained. Thank you!
Tysm! I have just finished learning it and this guide is very useful!
HAHA, I've covered this song like a million times with my friend! It never occurred to me that Drumeo would dig this. Yeah, it's a fun song to play!
Great video!!! That drums set sound amazing
Excellent teaching style!! Thanks so much! 😊

I first heard that tom groove in Jane's Addiction's "Ain't No Right".
Please do Munich Jam from Muse been stuck on it for ever.

Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse!!! Glad to see hear. thx a lot
awesome bro
You're missing one bass drum hit on the initial beat after the intro, but that was a good lesson
great lesson!
You saved my groove.
That's not the exact groove in the beginning of the song and the verse adds two hi hat hits I think? I love drumeo it'd be sick if you added those in!
Any chance you guy can do a video on assassin by muse been stuck on that for ages
Maximilian Andersson has done a great video on that
Nice lesson! Which Black panther snare are you using? Sounds great!
What cymbals are in this Video?

I've always wanted to learn that groove or at least something similar. Glad I checked this video out this morning.

Ok I've got no idea how drums works, but is this how perfectly tuned Toms sound like?

In the intro hihat groove, the hihat should close on the '+' of 1, and reopen on 2.
+J most def. annoyed he didn't catch that.
