    Isn't it possible that Tesla could create an inverse relationship between car insurance and fsd? Given that Tesla has data for every Tesla driver, isn't it feasible to offer lower insurance for folks with fsd? And why couldn't the combined cost of fsd and insurance for a Tesla be less than the average insurance for an ice driver? That would be an incredible offer from a sales pov.

  • @michelstronguin6974
    @michelstronguin6974 Месяц назад +3

    There is confusion in the analyst community, they seem to be trying to evaluate Tesla based on quarter to quarter deliveries. Tesla's market cap should always be around future platforms, and the confidence analysts have around the ability of Tesla to successfuly deliver those platforms. History shows that Tesla has so far been the most successful company in the world at execution. So said confidemce should be high. I would give Tesla the same market cap prediction which ARC has given it (ARC also has a good track record when it comes to predicting Tesla's future valuation). So I feel comfortable in saying that Tesla will be worth 6 to 8 trillion dollars by 2027-2028, call it 7 trillion. Thats around $2,200+ stock price. Let's cut %25 off of that to account for more silly analysts in the future - so even if it ends up being around $1,700 in 2027, thats still around a 10x from now, so I would say buy and hold the stock.

      Farzad, Jeff, John, and probably even Herbert are millionaires (or close to it) and lose touch sometimes with us “common man”. They will talk about the great value FSD is and how $200/mo. Is worth it. However, if you don’t have an extra $2400 to spend on that every year it doesn’t much matter how great the value is.

    23:00 - I'm pretty sure the 80% market share note is related to Luxury vs. Non-Luxury segments, as they classify all of Tesla's lineup as Luxury, which only represents 20% of the market (in the US).

    @stevenblackthorne4790 Месяц назад

    When analysts say that Tesla leaves 80% of the market unaddressed, and Brian asked what segment they were talking about (mini-vans? station wagons? etc), surely, they meant price points, not vehicle types. The analyst's criticism is valid, for the moment, but will be demolished by the mass-market car that is coming in 2025, or thereabouts. I don't know if the 80% number is accurate, but a $25,000 car, if that is the price when we get there, will outsell the Models 3 & Y by a long ways. The profit per unit will be smaller, I'm sure, but the volume will be huge. It makes me think of the release of the VW Beetle, in terms of the excitement it will generate, but with a product that is vastly superior to that air-cooled ICE car.

    Why is Tesla so slow at putting out the interior refresh for S and X.
    Is it a supplier issue. Sales of S and X need the interior refresh to boost that quality feel and keep up with the luxury competition.
    These flag ship models should also be in line for a price cut to increase volume. The production and development costs for those cars should have been absorbed years ago. A price cut would spike volume and increase the addressable market.

  • @larsnystrom6698
    @larsnystrom6698 Месяц назад +1

    It will be interesting to see the reduction of cost of goods, something the analysts ignore.
    FSD will also become more visible to them, but not enough to make "just a car company" to go away.
    So, the analyst will continue to ignore all the things Tesla itself consider important, and focus only on car sales and their price reductions.
    Tesla itself regards the car as just a basis for selling software, just like Apple does with the iPhone.
    The $25k car will increase that basis substantially, but that's 2 years ahead.
    Somewhere a year from now Optimus should be visible even to analysts.
    I expect the stock to not move much this year, just volatility. It may reach its bottom the next month, after earnings.
    Unless the US has a recession, of course.

    I think you're dreaming if you believe that Tesla is currently production constrained for any vehicle model except for the Cybertruck. The problem is that all the other models look too much alike and the market is starting to get bored with them. Yes, new markets are opening for these vehicles but they're not huge.
    I don't think sales are going to plummet by any means. But I think they're planing off right now to their more-or-less steady-state levels.
    Fortunately, it looks as if Cybertruck is ramping nicely, as are the megapacks. These will help to fill the profit gap. Also, I think Tesla is very close to FSD being robotaxi ready.

      I think your prediction is correct, but it won't be happening quite that soon. But you're not too far off. Once AGI and robotics exceed human capabilities (and I agree that we're close on both fronts) I just don't see any other way to run an economy. If we don 't introduce a UBI, we will have incredibly cheap goods available and only 5% of the population that can afford to buy any of them. Because the rest of us will be unemployed and so broke that we won't be able to buy anything, no matter how cheap it is.

    • @francescoambrosino1841

      @@eyesuckle It will all happen already in 2030, all the experts, the pioneers, the scientists, the engineers, analysts, economists and so on and so forth are increasingly scaling the dates and more or less they all agree on the fact that it will not take more than 5 years to reach AGI at its maximum level by 2029 and no more. Many like Elon Musk have said that in 2029 we would even have ASI thanks to the unstoppable technological accelerometer curve that is happening. the only thing I don't understand is why states and governments don't come forward to change the laws and make new reforms by adding UBI! because they have to anticipate the AGI, ASI. I said 2035 to be pessimistic but in reality, as everyone says, we are talking about even a little before 2030, what do you say!? give me a couple of estimates tell me some dates

    70% of Chinese wealth is held in real estate, with the failure and fraud of Evergrande and it's 330 billion $ loss Chinese real estate has been falling these last 5 months. The average Chinese may not feel as safe or secure in their finances as they did 6 months ago. I was hoping Tesla would be able to export more Teslas from China but it looks like they needed to cut production. This may last awhile. China was Teslas most profitable factory.
