Teach Any Cat AeroKat* - 4: Extending the Duration

Learn how to train your cat to keep their nose in the AeroKat* Chamber mask for the duration of the asthma inhaler treatment with this step by step guide from a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviorist.
Feline or cat inhalers require the use of a mask and chamber to deliver the medication to a cat with asthma. Your cat too can learn to use the aerosol chamber mask to get away from the side effects of systemic medications.
In this video you will learn how to your cat can be supported to go from simply placing their nose in the mask (see step 3) to keeping it there for the full duration of the treatment so they have time to inhale as much as possible.

You could use an animal training clicker or even just your mouth. As long as it's a clear, recognizable sound, it'll work.

Impossible, but still it’s something after all, I just force it

It will take time and effort in the beginning, but this is the best long-term solution.
I've been training my cat for about a year now, and she has worked her way up to about 4-5 breaths on her own (without forcing). Until she can do longer, we are also still giving her some oral steroids (prednisolone) daily.
