I keep recycling my OCs for different stories, usually FanFictions. Like, my OCs have their own intended original stories, they don't just exist for fanfiction, but when I want to engage in fanfiction or roleplay, I tend to recycle them and just translate them into that world. It's honestly a comfort knowing even career artists and story writers will do this sometimes.
Considering the uncanny similarities and that both are the same artist, this is about as close as we'll get to a Canon grown up version of Anya, at least for now

A japanese dictionary says it is an adverb which actually means "excited". My impression was it was just a childish sound and the translators did this on their own discretion.
There's a couple different ways to say "I'm excited" in Japanese, but if I'm not mistaken "waku waku" is like saying "so excited!" Or "so exciting!" And definitely more the type of thing that would come out of a kid's mouth.
