In this video of an essentially normal echo are the standard views included in a complete 2D echocardiogram. Shown are 2D echo images as well as color Doppler. 2D measurements and spectral Doppler images are not displayed.
If you are just starting out in learning echocardiography, this routine echocardiogram can be useful. Just keep in mind that 2D measurements and spectral Doppler are not shown. I will try to add them soon.
Echocardiography is intended to be a scientific study of the heart and should be performed with as much precision and consistency as possible. The collection of images you obtain should follow an established sequence or protocol. Every echo image should be the best quality possible, and labeled when necessary, so that the anatomy is clearly identifiable.
Generally speaking, the basic views in a routine echocardiogram are:
1. Parasternal Long Axis
2. Parasternal Short Axis
3. Apical 4 Chamber
4. Apical 5 Chamber
5. Apical 2 Chamber
6. Apical 3 Chamber (Apical Long Axis)
7. Subcostal View
8. Suprasternal Notch
For a complete indepth and detailed echocardiography protocol, please look at this protocol provided by IAC.

ever since i got an echocardiogram myself, i love watching footage of the lil valves going flappy flappy its weirdly endearing. like teeny tiny bats
this still makes me happy
@@suemccashland this reply made me smile so much because i absolutely agree haha
can you show me when to caliper and when to trace. i havent been able to get hired since graduating college almost 2 years ago since i dont have registry yet. im forgetting how to do my measurements. like which calc package. cant find a place or school to go to that will allow me to extern or practice to keep my skills up to date. getting my image is no problem. its just the measuring.
had one today... I had to look away lol.. then she put on the sound lol... even more strange to hear your heart.
I had one today and all I could do was look sadly no sound 😭 it was so interesting to see the blood moving around
@@KaylaSan97 i just recently had a ct scan of the heart and a stress test... looks ok but they say my aortic root is a bit dilated but not too bad.... how are you doing?
@@randocommando6826 I have my stress test next week. I won’t get the results till after that. I didn’t even need the tests done but the career path I chose “required” me to get them. I had a ct years ago for my head due to severe headaches but everything was fine and it was due to my neck.
@@KaylaSan97 good to hear👍
I had one done today
beautiful images!

What a hottie! I would be very proud of myself if I ever managed to capture images that pristine of the SAX
I have to admit, this is what I think about when I am alone with my laptop
I had one today but I'm trying to find one with the same heart pattern. My Q dips down almost as much as my R shoots up
My 2D ECHO sched next week
I'm due to have one today is it very straight forward? X
Im confused when it comes to Doppler do you PW or CW at wach valve?
You pulse wave to evaluate the max velocity through the valve. You CW to evaluate regurge and sometimes for stenosis.
Good
rv inflow problem
How much is the average cost for the test?
1200rs
What is the normal mitral valve range?
4 to 6 cm^2
In echo mitral valve MVOA 3.5 cm square how long treatment required to get normal valve
Awful colour box optimisation ;)
4 apical view is foreshortened .
Correct
Agree. Does foreshortened Apical view only affect the assessment of wall motion abnormality or there's more?
@@2dechojournal843 Also makes EF appear better than it is.
Not it’s not ? If it’s foreshortened it would be more round
The apical 2 chamber looks shortened bc the Mitral valve looks stenotic but doesn’t on any other view.
Though I see motion I am not Radiographer oh my God
Trace MR
There is moderate tr and mild as
No tere is trace tr and no as
Toto nie je dobre
