  • Legendary game with a legendary performance by Kobe Bryant. First he hits the game-tying shot of the great steal by Smush Parker and secondly he hits the game-winning buzzer beating shot which gave the Lakers the 3-1 lead over the Phoenix Suns in the 06 Playoffs. This shot is one of the best game winners in NBA-history. Kobe Bryant, the best player who ever played the game!

Watch Doge Winning the MVP has always been a popularity contest... When's the last time a player who won the MVP was actually the most valuable to their team? It's always the best player on the best team to win the MVP, it's retarded honestly cuz, there have been players who were ALOT more valuable to their trashy team who deserve the award compared to a player who is great but only won it cuz of his team being great and having the best record.... Like in 2006 for example, Kobe lost it to the Nash cuz Nash had the much better team and record, but how does that make Nash more valuable to his team than Kobe when Kobe didn't even have a team... And still lead them to the playoffs lol

Mr. Pound-For-Pound You're not going to like this...but he was the 2nd best player on his team from 1998-2004 and then had a prime from 2005 to 2007 where his teams won 34, 45, and 42 games. He won in 2008 when it easily could have been given to Chris Paul (Gasol, Odom, Fisher, Bynum > West, Chandler, and Stojakovic). And in 2009 and 2010, LeBron James was winning more games on teams with inferior talent to Bryant's Laker title teams. It's not blasphemous at all. His first 11 years in the league, there's only one real year where you could legitimately say he was deserving of the MVP...2006. I do think he should've won that year and CP3 should have won in 2008. After 2008, he's never been the most valuable player...more like the best player on the most loaded team in 2009 and 2010, and then just a really good player from 2011-2013. But MVP in those years? No...Rose got the 'we're tired of voting for LeBron' nod in 2011...the Bulls had the best record in basketball. LeBron deserved it in 2012...best player on best team. Same for 2013...and it's being proven this year. Meanwhile, with Gasol, Nash, and Howard (and MWP)...the Lakers won all of 45 games and barely made the playoffs. He's won exactly what he's deserved on an individual level.

Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot Well, thanks for not knowing what the hell you're talking about. Kobe's first MVP was 2003 were he had an incredible season but also the season when his image went to total shit with the Colorado case. That's why he didn't get it and Tim Duncan, deservedly. 06,07,08 are all Kobe. The team he had in 06, 07 was essentially a lottery team w/o him and Phil Jackson. Just look at whose in the line up at the end of this game. 05-06, 06-07 Kobe was a one man wrecking crew. But again, just look at who votes for the MVP: sports writers. Says it all
And Kobe not being a good player from 11-13? *Stop talking* He single-handledly saved the Lakers playoff chances before he went down with an Achilles and was actually in the MVP conversation. Do you even watch the games or repeat random shit you just heard. When he was at full go, he was still the best player during those years and that's being 15+ season in. I mean what he did before he went down with that injury in the 2nd half of the season was beyond comprehension.

Larry Bird had more game winning buzzer beaters shots than Jordan. Fact! Larry Bird had a broken knuckle that didn't heal properly throughout his NBA career. This is fact as well. Larry Bird rookie season, the previous year the Celtics had the 2nd worst record in the league, with Larry as a rookie they had the best record in the league without Mchale nor Parish, they swept the Lakers in the season series and reached the East Finals. Jordan couldn't do much of an improvement on his rookie year for his team.

This game is the first thing I think of when I hear "kobe". I'm tearing up watching this. It just heartbreaking for someone this inspirational to be gone in the blink of an eye. Prayers out to his Wife, his daughter, the pilot, the other two aboard, and everybody else involved💜💛

I grew up in Inglewood, on Osage Ave off of Manchester, literally a block from the Forum. I got the very tail end of the showtime era, and the Lakers still played at the Forum for a few more years including Kobe's first three seasons. I can't express how emotional I get watching these old clips, I was a young teen and I recalling the pride I had and still retain in the Lakers.
No matter what happens, I am a die hard Lakers fan. Magic, Kareem, Shaq, and Kobe all contributed to the best memories I have of my team.

    "Bryant for the win... BANG!!!"
Bang is usually for clutch 3 pointers but Mike Breen specially exclaimed it for Kobe Bryant.
