If this is how they (Shawn in particular) sounded at a state fair recorded on a vhs camcorder, I don't understand how this band didn't come to rule the world.
There’s an incredible, ethereal and hopeful quality to Shawn’s style, it just oozes out of every note he plays, and I can’t get enough of it. Shredding with more passion and emotive power than anyone else.
@@CoryIsMyName Yeah the particular arthritis he had was some cruel universe joke or something. But his pain definitely brought out an unparalleled sense of beauty and emotion in his playing.
Thank you for re-uploading this. This song is so immensely special, and its such a treat to see a young Shawn in flow state, slowly open up over the song's course into that tour de force of a solo. What a truly brilliant mind and spirit. RIP to one of the greats.
...and you just thought this gonna be another band playing some random venue. little did you know that you have just landed in the presence of one of the greatest creative minds to ever exist...
@@DjentleYGO Romeo is really one of the very few guys who really gave his own flavour to the neoclassical/symph/prog thing. Love his composing/writing . I feel thats where you can hear most of his Shawn influences if one ignores his mad technical abillity for a second.
I have never seen another player put everything into every single note like Shawn. I thought guitar and music was something you could learn but nobody can learn Shawn lanes playing. It comes from somewhere else.
Is this actually a Shawn Lane song? I'm asking because I looked up and wasn't able to find any other recordings of this song. 🤔 Can it be his band's original song?
He builds the solo up really well and then stands up straight and at 4:02 and hits the hyperdrive button but still is melodic. These videos of when he was young show how incredible he always was.
That guitar solo is a miracle.
God bless whoever filmed this.

Not a state fair...was on Mud Island in Memphis.
Surely they must have recorded. If only to send off to record companies. Where are the tapes?
Right? There must be a demo somewhere out there.
@@davidwright7287 there are hd vids of most famous bands, but companies keep them in a valt waiting to be lost forever due to money.

his emotive power was huge....thats why he is still today light years ahead of everyone
He got dealt a pretty shitty hand in life. I like to think that it's the life he wishes he had coming out through his playing. RIP

That solo is just EPIC...
Beautiful song and that outro … first an awesome progression is set up for Shawn to solo over and then he delivers that classic solo 👏👏👏
Shawn was...... and still remains the GOAT of shred!
Thanks for adding this one back. It was dearly missed.
We were there. Mud Island.
Followed them for about 3 years in Memphis. Great times.
This song is so beautiful , only 187 views? can´t understand..
We do. Most can't :(. Best Regards!
Anything Shawn is in, is absolutely *worth* searching for.

We need this!! And more all along the watch tower cover versions!!
Michael Romeo of Symphony X led me to Shawn Lane. I love the way they both play.
Romeo really knows his shit. One of the greats! Love Michael Romeo

I believe that the choice of notes at the beginning of the solo are basically perfect. There is no better option.
An immense loss to music!!☘
Bad VHS footage with muddy audio. Then the solo starts = face melting tone from hell 👍
Grande músico, você estará sempre em nossas memórias
Wonderful solo and guitar work
Song is a banger. Need a cover
OMG..... wow wow WOW
Awesome tune, amazing solo! Would love to find a studio version if it exists. Hard to hear the bass clearly to make out the harmony.

Is there a studio version of this anywhere
Yes, in my bumhole
4:02
Man I’ve seen videos of local bands around my area and they completely suck compared to this one. Even the singer was pretty good.
What year is this video from?
i think 1986.
Is there any studio version of this available ?
I am also looking for a studio version
Did you find anything? Who's the composer? Is it an original song? I don't understand
@@Cestariarts I haven't found anything yet, it's a title of the shawn lane band, but impossible to find a studio version
