Seattle Stories - Jenna, person experiencing homelessness

Jenna grew up in Seattle and Cle Elum with her older brother and half-sister. Her parents split when she was 10 and her dad struggled with alcoholism. She started using drugs out of curiosity when she was with her boyfriend, who struggled to per her first over his using. They both ended up coping with illegal drugs, even while holding down jobs and living together.
Things got worse when they started using fentanyl. They lived in a trailer in Cle Elum and broke up for a while. Jenna ended up in jail for seven months, where she got clean. But when she got out, she lost everything and ended up on the streets looking for her boyfriend Connor. They got back together, and she started using drugs again.
Now, Jenna and her boyfriend want to quit and get clean, but they're stuck on the streets without any support.
This is part of her story.

Is it unfair to have a shelter that's women only because her boyfriend doesn't have his own home?

Thanks for watching and good question. Their are different shelters for people with different needs. Some shelters are coed, yet as of right now all the tiny homes have a no partner and no pets policy. Hopefully that will change some day.
