@@joshua6207 In 2-3 years CPL will have at least 9 teams. An expansion site was awarded in Saskatoon if I am not mistaken. CPL commissioner David Clanachan has, on numerous occasions, confirmed the league's plans to expand gradually up to 16 clubs in 2026. For Canada 16 teams will be ideal. As their main and only goal is to develop Canadian talent most of the players are Canadian.
@@ivanpetrov5185 we won't have 16 teams in 5 years. Saskatoon doesn't start playing until 2023 I believe and the only other place who could have a team in the next 2 years is moncton who have a 8,000 seat stadium already built. We should have atleast 12 teams by 2026 and dont want to grow to fast to early
If you're going to promote Canadian talent, you need to tell us who these players are that were supposed to care about. How many people know the Impact backups or Forge players? You can promote them by putting starting XI/bench/coaches info at start of ever games. Even better, you put the formation on a graphic and before the game even starts weve learned the winger, gk, coaches names. The small time investment to create graphic is definitely worth it to promote players/teams/league.
That’s vital information however again these are simply highlights the nhl doesn’t do starting line up in highlights they do it in the full match which onesoccer does
If you follow Football many of these names would be familiar. Mo is a former TFC Academy Product. Kyle Bekker played for both Montreal and TFC.. Also it is a highlight as has been said. More so if you actually sub to one soccer... then you have to be into football enough to actually want to watch CPL matches.
Rob Elliott but that’s if you follow Canadian soccer closely. There are a lot of new fans for Canadian soccer now thanks to the Canadian premier league and skills of the current national team
Henry stepped off his line before the ball was kicked a bunch of times, and wth was that stutter step by Browne - he full out stopped his forward momentum...
Forge should’ve probably put it away in regular time but shit that’s football .. nothing to hang your heads you guys earned so many peoples respect ✊ would’ve loved to see an MLS side get knocked out Forge got some serious ballers
Man, what a pleasant surprise how well my home team of Hamilton played against a giant to them, an MLS side. Great work boys. Penno’s are a crap chute.
Man as a neutral I feel for Forge FC and they had a ton of chances but just weren’t prepared for those penalties, good showing tho and congrats to Montreal.
Piette can't score for the life of him. The Hamilton keeper kept getting off his line at every Montreal kick and linesman never called it. Piss poor officiating. Low level at best.
I love Canadian soccer, it's time for Montreal Impact, Toronto FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps to leave MLS and play for Canadian Premier League. To make Canadian soccer more advanced 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
You do realize that the moment they join in the CPL, their budgets are slashed big time right? TFC would be more like TFC 2 in the CPL. Would not be able to afford any of the current players.
@@canadaking5509 I'm not talking about Montreal pal, i talk about the game they had like 2 weeks ago in Costa Rica against Santos de guapiles a weaker team than Montreal that's why
CPL teams are becoming consistent with the way they compete with the MLS sides. Great to see!
Mls sides not really putting their starting lineup.. montreal put their C team out there tonight and still won
In 2-3 years the CPL teams will be alot better with only 8 teams. the talent wont be spread out as much as the MLS with 27 teams

Brezza has shown he is our starter and johnson has shown he is not a scorer. Great game forge!
how often do you see penalties go to the 11th round, insane finish!
Can we just take a minute to acknowledge how the forge keeper was not on his line for any of the shots 😂
Great referee as always 👌🏻
Yes it was so obvious. Too bad it wasn't called.

Pretty Good talent for Canada football, missed so many easy goal attempts that should of been in though tbh

What a shootout 🤯
Will it be another all MLS final or could Pacific beat TFC? Thoughts?
all mls and toronto beats montreal and tfc front office doesn’t get fired and we an abomination of a season again.
