I've been trying to figure this out forever now. Thank you so much!
Sidenote: I just got a track signed to a label out of Detroit; Infolines. I'll be their first dnb producer to get signed to the label. It's a techno and electro label. I bring this up because your videos have helped me immensely in dialing in a lot of the technical skillets of producing music that I have been trying to figure out for a long time. I owe a lot of this accomplishment to your dedication to helping and educating us on how to be better and more efficient musical artists.

IDK why they didn’t implement the features of Simpler (Ableton) in the Bitwig Sampler.
    Warping
    Chop mode
    Etc
I been contemplating switching to bitwig bc of all the amazing features but man… losing those sampler features that I didn’t even realize how often I use them .. Damn

this how-to guide is so good. less about the music, more about the nuts and bolts of the device in question. keep 'em coming!

Great vid! Personally I found it's fun to use a regular LFO with rising saw shape instead of Ramp, so that you can bend that shape with other parameters of the LFO and sometimes it yields interesting reasults :)

Wow, in the past I'd literally bounced stuff to audio from the sampler, messed around with the stretch settings on that audio clip, then put it back. I didn't realise about freezing and then modulating the start point. I'll definitely use that one. Thanks!

I just wish Bitwig had native time stretching in the Sampler. It's crazy to me the most other DAWS have this basic feature and while Bitwig is light years ahead of everyone else with it's workflow and features, this basic feature is sadly lacking. It opens up SO many potential uses cases without these terrible sounding workarounds :(
I've purchased Serato sample top do just this exact thing which is fantastic, but I'd love it to be a part of Bitwig itself in upcoming updates, maybe in a sample+ update if we ever got one :P

Fun, I just used the same method to also use automation to sometimes play it backwards. The R button in the sample cannot be modulated, but the up/down arrow in the ramp modulator can be modulated and/or automated.

Robert, this is actually super helpful. I was wondering about this feature like "detect tempo" similar to FL Studio and this is nice hack.

We need a workstation hardware designed around Bitwig, this software is the best thing in the music industry right now, I been doing Cubase, Logic, Protools, if we could have this work structure in a hardware device using analog filter, analog engine and perfect marriage with the software it would be amazing, kind of like what Akai mpc has done with their software, but that software is nothing like this, we also need Bitwig App for Ipad, maybe streamline version. Its time explode this new way of working.

Cool guide, thank you. I guess you can also set some random onto the ramp direction so sometimes it will play in reverse?

people are always asking for warp in the sampler - I don't know why so many don't know that you can do what we see in this video...
