I had the privilege of seeing him live at the recent concert with HK Philharmonic. He played this as his first encore piece after performing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Truly impressive.
Me too. Sadly someone clapped before the piece ended - it was a furious moment for me.
I just don't see how it is physically possible to play this on violin. Beautiful!

I just wish it was a touch slower to really hear all the beautiful melodic lines and their shapes.

Definitely didn’t give as much attention to the ricochet of each note, but rather attention to grouping the ricochets!! So smooth and more melodic!

Almost unbelievable! Difficult to play also on a six string guitar I have tried myself.
Try MORE. I am obtaiming the first true good results after ONE year practicing it on guitar. Patience, and try more.

As perfect as his technique is, this is one of the few pieces written for guitar that sound really weird on a violin. It's usually the other way around.
This piece just doesn't work on violin sorry but sounds much better on guitar . It is an honor however as a guitarist that other instrumentalists are playing pieces from our repo.
