I've always thought Mewtwo was a good character in this game, but he'll never be a _great_ character until his tail hurtbox is cut down significantly.
Also, Confusion needs to not be negative on hit, and it should make Mewtwo give horizontal momentum like in Smash 4.
Shadow Ball's shield damage needs to desperately be buffed.
Gnarfledarf Didn't it get nerfed before? They clearly don't want projectiles to do a lot of shield damage
@@Gnarfledarf I'm all for giving Confusing its momentum from Smash 4, but it's only -1 between 0-14% and scales up as the opponent's percent rises, so I don't think it needs to be changed there.
He got buffed a few months back that made the tail a smaller hit box. It isnt perfect but it isnt as bad as it usually was. Wish me luck my dudes I got a tourney on sat with mewtwo as my main
@@TJ6152 Down throw doesn't true combo against anyone, it's just a setup. If they air dodge, you can punish with a delayed forward air or down air offstage, but if they jump, you can chase them and take advantage of their limited options. Forward throw is a similarly good setup throw at low percents that can lead into forward air or running down tilt depending on the opponent's option. Since Mewtwo also has two reliable kill throws, having a true combo throw on top of that isn't necessary.

@@sazakrom106 Mewtwo wasn't broken in Smash 4 though. I don't even think he was high tier. A lot of the dlc characters were kinda meh in that game. Lucas was meh, Roy was meh, Ryu was pretty alright but people figured him out and cloud and bayo were real good. So only 2 were broken

Reminder that even in Melee mewtwo had some of the strongest combos, powerful moves, great range, and a fantastic recovery... and he was still garbage almost entirely because of the exact same problems he has in ultimate.

DI can be done in any angle, and LSI, which is up or down, influences speed. LSI doesn’t work if you’re launched upwards or downwards at about a 30 degree angle.

This match was awesome because mkleos raw unmatchable skill. Mewtwo needs some buffs because other characters have something that makes them shine and mewtwo being big light and not having a lot of range is really hurting him
I felt that universal patch with the reduce shield pressure on projectiles shouldn't have effected mewtwo, samus and lucario or any one with a chargeable. Samus was an much better character for having nb in smash 4. Hopefully we see some revisions at some point.

I've been quiet about mewtwo with the players I'm around but I swear it seems like he has tools to deal with every fighter archetype in the game. Honestly if he was a little heavier he'd be moving towards broken status
Mewtwo is good and stylish but is never gonna be that relevant in the meta. Not only his tail hurtbox need to be fix but is also a big character while also being one of the lightest, which means you can be hit as easy as a heavy while not being that durable and that is a terrible combination
So basically not a tryhard character
