I don’t mind modernism as long as you are talking about indoor plumbing, electric appliances and lights, automobiles, etc. But when it comes to religion?forget about it! 😊
I walked out of a catholic church a few weeks ago and as I left, I told the man at the back, "I left Protestantism in 2010 to become Catholic. If I wanted to go to a Protestant church today I wouldn't have come to a Catholic church!" The music sounded like All the Modern Protestant/ Evangelical church!m of today! I hated it!!
I understand that the “good old days “ ended when Adam and Eve had to leave the garden! So many people are nostalgic for the good old days but they don’t realize what I just said above.
Definitely, the Jewish kabalah infiltrated Christianity in the Renaissance, and later influenced Protestantism and through its outshoots like Rosicrucianism it influenced Descarte, Kant and especially Hegel. Read Julio Meinvielle.
You have to understand that Kennedy's audience consists of laymen without philosophical backgrounds. He's doing a very, very, basic background. I think he's aware that Descartes is more complex.
Leo XIII “it is absurd to imagine that he who is outside the church can command in the church.” From catholic principles made known by so many true popes and theologians, one is not even a catholic in a state of mortal sin for not holding the catholic faith whole and inviolate. So for one:for those teaching, acting, or accepting of those that say that other religions are valid, and or,take part in them, are Not Catholic.
You are misrepresenting Kant, he is attempting to establish the Objective apriori knowledge that is outside of sense experience. Ie to grasp with the fundamentals of the thing in itself, he also addresses things outside of apriori knowledge in his critiques of practical knowledge and judgement.
Kant reduced knowledge to the limits of the human mind, his mind principally. Nothing objective about that, because he never escaped the subjectivism of the human mind introduced by Descarte. He dismissed any human contact with what he called the noumenon because he had no clue about transcendent infused knowledge of reality, such as that of the mystics. Hence his counterintuitive fascination with someone like Swedenborg, by whom he was nonplussed.
@@deusvult9837well said. if you like Lord of the Rings you would most certainly love Paul List and Ali Gheffari’s ‘Mount Doom’. They touch on exactly that.
Descartes and Kant are approaching the issue that we are starting from our consciousness, to approach God we must first have grasp of reason ie what is innate in our soul and the understanding it can grasp. There is a reason that man has reason, he can grasp God unlike the lower beasts and plants. One may assume God for brevity, but they were exploring how that is even possible to begin with from our minds.
If you really want to understand this, you can sign up for the online philosophy, theology, church history, and other classes from the New Saint Thomas Institute taught by Dr. Taylor Marshall. You can also start reading more church encyclicals while taking these classes. Any Catholic who studies the church and discovers that she is, like Christ, is both human and Divine will never leave her because of her DIVINITY.
Another suggestion if you haven't checked it out is SSPX's Crisis in the Church series. If you don't have a background in philosophy, they help break things down in simple terms so you can understand the philosophical errors behind Modernism. Pascendi is an amazing encyclical but may be a bit heavy depending on your background. I highly recommend giving it a read though as St. Pius X reads like a prophet for our day.
@samuelwalker1410 thanks for that. And your right, that's a great series. I am fortunate enough to live just a few minutes from a wonderful SSPX chapel and am extremely thankful to archbishop Lefebvre for his courage, foresight, and faithfulness. I pray the rest of the church would wake up.
Wouldn't we be better off studying what God, our Creator, has revealed to us? Doesn't the uncreated mind of God contain all knowledge? Isn't the Mind of God where all of the knowledge that mankind needs that is relevant to our entire purpose for which we were created...to get to know God, so that we can serve Him, and love Him in this world so that can be with Him in the next? Wouldn't that be a much more worthwhile use of the time and intellect that GOD gave us, rather than to use our puny intellect and understanding to re-invent the broken wheel that Satan has talked us into buying from him, that he is using to lure us into Hell?Just saying with the SUPERIOR Knowledge that The Father has given us through His Son.
Kennedy, progressive Catholics- like me. Do not deny essentialism to the universe- we are skeptical of YOUR ability to know such truths like the nature of humanity, the nature of women (and men) and most importantly, the judgment of another’s heart. YOU are just another human in the dark, like me. However, after the leap of faith (the subjectivism you assume we can abandon) I profess Christ as my absolute reality. Your episodes and understanding of so called progressive Catholicism is a strawman.
@@Marcia-fw3wz This is what Chat said: Here's a breakdown of what the person is saying: Affirmation of Essentialism: The speaker is acknowledging that they (as a progressive Catholic) do believe there are essential truths about the universe. This suggests they don't reject the idea of universal realities like morality, human nature, or the divine. Skepticism of Another's Claims to Truth: They argue that while these essential truths exist, humans (including the person they’re addressing) are fallible and limited in their ability to fully comprehend them. Specifically, they’re challenging the addressee’s claim to understand profound truths about humanity, gender (women and men), and moral judgment. Humility and Shared Human Limitation: The speaker emphasizes that no one, including the person they’re addressing, has perfect knowledge. Both are “just another human in the dark,” meaning everyone is subject to the same existential uncertainty and limitations. Faith as a Personal Leap: The speaker distinguishes their position by referencing the "leap of faith," an idea often associated with Christian existentialist Søren Kierkegaard. They argue that faith in Christ is a deeply personal, subjective commitment that cannot be fully rationalized or reduced to objective argumentation. Criticism of Misrepresentation: The speaker accuses the addressee of misunderstanding or oversimplifying progressive Catholicism, describing their portrayal of it as a "strawman." This suggests the speaker believes the addressee is inaccurately presenting progressive Catholics as having beliefs or values they do not actually hold. In essence, the person is defending progressive Catholicism as a perspective that combines faith, humility, and an acknowledgment of human fallibility. They reject any implication that progressive Catholics abandon essential truths but stress the need for humility in claiming to fully know or judge them. - Hope that helps.
If you really accepted Christ as the absolute reality you wouldn't be sceptical about the truth about human nature, the nature of men and women, all of which Christ revealed to us. That is called cognitive dissonance, so typical of self styled neo modernists or progressive christians, which BTW, is an oxymoron.
If you profess Christ as your absolute reality you cannot remain sceptical about Your ability to know human nature or the nature of men and women, because Christ showed us the essence and reality of human beings and their nature and end. Yours is nominalism all over again in its current neo modernist form. And BTW, progressive Christian is an oxymoron .
I would say the end of a delusion. Inner contradictions of Catholic highest authorities (Pope *+ vast majority of bishops all around the world* ) proves that there is nothing divine in the apostolic institutions. Thus, in the Gospel itself.
Thank you for caring enough to take the time to express your thoughts regarding this essential issue. What has happened to The Restrainer, the previously infallible Papacy, until 1958, is spoken about in St. Paul's 2nd epistle to the Thessalonians. The man of sin, the Antichrist, will soon be revealed. As also described in Paul's same epistle, he will be destroyed by God. Chapter 1, verse 7 of St. John's Apocalypse (Book of Revelation) describes the arrival of He who will commence a new BEGINNING BEGINNING BEGINNIG: "Behold He is coming with the clouds and every eye will see him, every one who pierced Him; and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of Him. Even so. Amen. I will pray, dearest Brother, that our Lord, Jesus Christ, grant your heart comfort and good hope in the terrible times about to come upon us.

Is there a connection between modernism as the synthesis of all heresies and the heresy of the PERFIDIOUS ones?

St Pius X defined Modernism as Evolution , Faith does not evolve but decreases/increases,
What specifically Consistite the Faith?
Do you deal with the pervasive modernist method, Shared Christian Praxis, that is endemic to 90% of catechetical texts?
Nice
Pope St. Pius X: Modernism is the synthesis of all heresies.
Bishop Fellay: Francis is a genuine Modernist.
This makes Francis a heretic.
Premise 1: Correct
Premise 2: If Bishop Fellay's premise is correct, then the logical conclusion, i,e., Francis is a heretic, is not a fallacious.
@@johnf2023 A heretic is a non-Catholic and a non-Catholic cannot be the pope. But Fellay maintains that the modernist heretic Francis is the pope!
