Masterpiece! It is a dream to see the rich and extraordinary universe created by Frank Herbert gain such magnitude in the hands of Denis Villeneuve, the perfect director for this feat. Dune is a spectacle like the Middle-earth we see in The Lord of the Rings. Just like the passionate work of J. R. R. Tolkien, I am delighted to see Herbert attracting new readers after the release of the first part. The depth and grandeur that Villeneuve imposed on the 2021 production is in proportion to Peter Jackson's trilogy, which is in my Top 3 favorite films. The Lord of the Rings is a cinematographic realization, a epic, and I'm sure that with Dune - Part Two it will be no different when we leave the cinemas. Cheering for the biggest film of the year alongside Tom Cruise and his new Mission: Impossible. In this way, we will guarantee Dune Messiah and the birth of one of the greatest franchises in the history of cinema!
It will take a colossal effort to dethrone LOTR trilogy. Dune part 1 was a good film as reflected by critics and fans. It has a solid 8 rating on IMDB with a generous 600k votes cast. Fellowship of the Ring has stood the test of over 20 years and with over 1.9 million votes it sits at 8.8 This is territory of truly special work, these ratings are not everything but it's something to go by. Perhaps Dune part 2 will be even better and it might come close to Two Towers and I hope it does but again it's a long road. Finally if Dune Messiah happens it will be compared to Return of the King. Incase you forgot the film won countless academy awards and capped the greatest trilogy ever. A 9 rating from 1.9 million votes on IMBD..after 20 years? There's only 7 films that are comparable. This is legendary territory. It will take a colossal effort from Denis Villeneueve. Good luck! Can't wait to see it!
Love the allusion to Ridley Scotts, Scott Free intro at 0:35. Just like in the first one with the ornithopters Denis Villeneuve pays homage to Sir Ridley. Both masters at their craft.
I am so excited for the lineup of movies this year: Dune Part 2, New Christopher Nolan movie, new Martin Scorcesse movie with Leo, new Mission Impossible movie, the Flash returning Michael Keaton's Batman, Equalizer 3, New David Fincher movie based on a sick graphic novel, Hunger Game prequel, Rebel Moon, an R rated Kraven the hunter movie Wow.
@@ajc4477 it’s rare that I find a reason to go an actual theater, which is sad because I miss a far gone time when I used to go every other weekend. But now, nothing ever seems worth it. So I’m glad when movies like these come along. IMAX worthy!
Almost my sentiments too. I'll pay to watch this movie and this movie alone on the big screen this year. Or maybe together with Spider-Man across the Spiderverse.
God, I want this movie to crush at the box office and award shows so badly! From what I've heard Denis wants to do Messiah next to close out a "trilogy." I would KILL to see this carry through to God Emperor of Dune - it was my favorite of the original 6 books and would be absolutely insane to see done on film.
It makes sense to go up to Messiah, it was actually written at the same time as Dune and they make a thematically complete package. I don't think Denis wants to make like 5 of these movies. 3 is enough.
I hear you, but you've got to remember how much of God Emperor is delegated to internal monologue. Sure, the first three books are choc full of it, but God Emperor is almost entirely monologue. Like, the whole thing. Villeneuve has shown that it is possible to effectively portray internal monologues without actually dropping them like the 80s movie, but he's also gone on record describing how difficutl it is and how much time he spent revising and running over every scene to make sure the proper emotions were portrayed. In a story where almost the entire plot hinges around the thoughts of the characters, even more so than Dune and Messiah, I don't think even Villeneuve could pull it off. I just feel God Emperor simply isn't meant for the screens, unfortunately. Though I'd have to agree that I'd love to see it, if only to see Leto II fully CGI'd (or possibly even practical)! I've always wanted to see a high-quality, cinematic portrayal of the worm god in action!
@@buttersticks7877 Yeah, it really would be the hardest of the original books to translate to film. But c'mon, the montage of Leto getting pissed at and subsequently killing hundreds of Duncan gholas for a thousand years would be hilarious.

@@janmajer4662 I believe that feyed’s fighting scenes will be black and white and then at the end of the film when Muad’dib and Feyed have the duel it will be in color. The flashback theory also sounds promising!
The first time I saw a picture of Timothee Chalamet from some red carpet. The light glinted green and blue in his eyes. And he had a hidden knowing smile. And I thought, "Ok, I have no idea who this kid is but if he can act, they have to make a new Dune, and he has to play Paul!" I guess I am living in the right era.
I am excited for this film for one reason alone. Part 1 was such a masterpiece and genuinely seemed like a love child from the director that I have complete faith in his abilities. Too high of expectations? Perhaps. But I am excited for this and genuinely don't know what to expect.
Amazing. Feyd in the gladiator arena and with Lady Fenring. Irulan getting some screentime. Zendeya gets to play Chani with way more personality than her few mysterious-looking scenes in the first part. I think we saw Gurney with the Smugglers. Jessica still playing her Bene-Gesserit games, without seeing the big picture like Paul does. The only things missing in this trailer are Christopher Walken as Shadam IV and as far as I could see, no Alia. Also I wonder why Paul doesn't have blue eyes in the worm riding scene, but he does have them in the duel with Feyd. These two incidents weren't that far apart if I remember correctly. Anyway I'm sooo looking forward to this movie.
I figure his eyes will turn blue after the water of life. Might not exactly line up with the book, but it's a good way of visually marking the change that happens with him, so it makes sense for the movie
They wouldn't want to give everything away in an early trailer. I love the water that seems to be given of the death still. I hope they keep that scene where Paul reckons with taking his first life. They definitely will have to have Alia in it, as she's a major character in future instalments and also does *spoiler* at the end of the first Dune (I would love to see them adapt Dune Messiah and Children of Dune and then maybe do an anime of the further books like God Emperor of Dune). I'm also keen to see how they show Tleilaxu and gholem!!
I saw two homages to shots from Lawrence Of Arabia. The figure coming toward us in the heatwave and the crowd cheering as their leader passes by (here on a worm and in Lawrence on a train). Nice touch.

Well this looks even stronger than part 1 - more emotional, 1st part had that estranged vibes of cold endless space and "icy" merciless heat of the sun and ruthless "hospitality" of the desert. I really enjoyed that vibes and mood. But glad to see it's growing into something new and more "human" emotionally fulfilled. This time - from the trailer - I see something from the characters point of view, part one was from environment point of view, mostly desert. Hope the movie part 2 will be better than even this trailer.
damn. it looks so good and with such a stellar cast of actors. i havent read the books but can Denis please adapt all the good ones. i want more of this .
Read the books! As good as this cinema adaptation is the books are FAR richer and give insight and understanding. Read at least the first 3 (Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune). They get a little obtuse after that, IMHO.
@@michaelnash2138 If you are not going to read the God Emperor of Dune why even bother with Messiah. Sure it closes Paul's journey but leaves Lethos wide open
God-Emperor is a good read. I just thought if ergohash reads the first 3 then he'll feel compelled to read the others. I must say, though, Heretics I just wasn't able to dig into very well. Chapterhouse was about the same for me. Brian Herbert's novels, well, they just aren't in the same caliber, unfortunately.
@@michaelnash2138 Well if he doesn't read Children of dune will never know that paul doesn't die in the desert and the first 2 books basically end the Paul's journey. I think that's what the movies go for as well. Just 2 first books
But imagine if Denis Villeneuve could put those books to shame and make a actual good movie out of some pretty bad written books?! But I agree, he should probably stop before it gets too bad
This is something that is worth paying for and seeing. This is how every movie should be made, big scale. Diligently thought out and well written. This is what hype for every movie should feel like. Also, there should only be ONE trailer before the premiere. Put out too many trailers and teasers, and the hype is gone. People already know the story. Yes, I'm talking to you Marvel/Disney.
I'm consistently stunned that anybody likes the first film. To me, it was lost when they cast Timothee and Zendaya as Paul and Chani. And i'm a HUGE Denis Villeneuve fan...I just don't see the "greatness" that other people say they see when they watch the film, and this trailer, to me, looks worse than the first film.🤷♀ Plus, I see/feel ZERO chemistry between Tim and Zendaya, it's just forced and dry and awkward...

This is the movie it should’ve always been. Powerful, beautiful, and completely moving. I grew up on this story and I can’t wait to feel it in theaters.

Villeneuve is a freaking genius!!!! This trailer alone, has given me life!!!! Epic!!!!!
I totally agree. I am expecting (hoping) to finally have a trilogy on par with LOTR
Don't think that people that love to see CGI over plot and dialogs want to read Dune.
Master piece??? What is wrong with you idiots..

Denis is a true artist and timothee's performance gives me goosebumps. It's insane how talented he is.
Love the allusion to Ridley Scotts, Scott Free intro at 0:35. Just like in the first one with the ornithopters Denis Villeneuve pays homage to Sir Ridley. Both masters at their craft.
That final shot with Paul and the crowd was beautiful!!!
I am so excited for the lineup of movies this year:
Dune Part 2, New Christopher Nolan movie, new Martin Scorcesse movie with Leo, new Mission Impossible movie, the Flash returning Michael Keaton's Batman, Equalizer 3, New David Fincher movie based on a sick graphic novel, Hunger Game prequel, Rebel Moon, an R rated Kraven the hunter movie

Almost my sentiments too. I'll pay to watch this movie and this movie alone on the big screen this year. Or maybe together with Spider-Man across the Spiderverse.
WB should take STAR WARS and give it to Denis Villeneuve ..

That music just brings it to life. I 'felt' him falling and scrabbling down the side of that worm. It's so visceral, so real. I can't wait.
Can you imagine Deni's vision of the God Emperor? All of his visions far surpass my own.
It makes sense to go up to Messiah, it was actually written at the same time as Dune and they make a thematically complete package.
I don't think Denis wants to make like 5 of these movies. 3 is enough.
Atleast they should make the story till god emperor of dune.
Welcome back to the DUNE AGENDA. My body is ready
One of the best books ever written by one of the best directors, one of the best composers and a fantastic cast.😁
The best cast ever!!!
I agree with all of this, except Dune definitely isn’t one of the best books ever written. It’s a great world but Frank Herbert sucked at writing.

Halfway through the first book, just got to the end of the first film. The way how the film helps visualise the book is fantastic really make me want to wait till the second is out to finish the book.
Dont wait, keep reading, you still have some of the best parts too read. I watched the Lynch movie before reading the book back when i was 10 (1991), and i get what you are saying, the estetics of the movie does help a lot. But i would still want you to keep reading it, even before part 2. =)
The production quality in every aspect of this film is beyond amazing. Just wonderful stuff.
"May thy knife chip and shatter."
That's Fremen for "Eat sh-- and die."

After watching the trailer, I must say that it looks like a cinematic masterpiece! The music is absolutely mesmerizing, and it perfectly complements the stunning cinematography that is on display throughout the trailer. It's clear that a lot of care and attention has been put into the visual and auditory elements of the film, and I can't wait to see how they come together in the final product. 2:10 Can't wait to see Paul and Feyd's epic duel. So frikkin' hyped!
Same here Nathan same here
This is the majestic, colossal charisma that Dune truly deserves. Goosebumps all over the place.
It's only the second trailer. Patience.
I figure his eyes will turn blue after the water of life. Might not exactly line up with the book, but it's a good way of visually marking the change that happens with him, so it makes sense for the movie
@@LuckyImpling I agree. Let's see if that's how it plays out.

There are very few movies that I've ever truly been eager to see. This is one of them.
Dune is one of my favorite books

But I agree, he should probably stop before it gets too bad
This is something that is worth paying for and seeing. This is how every movie should be made, big scale. Diligently thought out and well written. This is what hype for every movie should feel like.
