  • Rio Tinto's Northparkes copper and gold mine in Australia uses automated loaders to increase efficiency and safety in underground mining. The mine has successfully implemented Sandvik Mining's AutoMine loading system over the past three years -- and is now moving towards 100 percent autonomous loading

    Personally, I, prefer to actually be in the scoop mucking.....and if I was required to muck from surface or some other remote location,I wouldn't stay on that job very long, because I'd transfer or quit outright.

      and today they can operate multiple loaders from surface with only a handful of operators...no brainer

      @@pieterprinsloo007 except in "actual" mining ie: stopes, development mining, it's NOT cost affective...NO Brainer!

    Boo hoo nice to see another npm worker acting like they have done something try digging from first pegs in the ground lift one then eltin lift two n thought the last of the real operators bums on seat not that makes us actual miners grrr
