This is great footage for people who know who Gary is...but aren't quite old enough to remember him playing. A fantastic, committed and supremely talented professional...and obviously with a big heart and brain as well. I love the way he celebrated goals....always showing his love for what he did. It reminds me of Kenny Dalglish.
Lineker, always in the right place at the right time
Yes..Inzaghi too..
You rarely see a perfect hattrick (rightfoot, leftfoot & header) nowadays. Good ol' 80s.
Kane scored one against Albania in 2021. Was at the match and caught it on camera 👍🏼

You hardly ever saw 1 ever
Nice shiny kit
State of that pitch - how times have changed!
If you watch any video of Lineker’s goals on YT you’ll see nearly every one of them he scored with his feet was a shot taken ‘first time’, i.e. without him taking a touch beforehand. His goalscoring style was pure instinct.
The kit was from the Marks and Spencer intimates bedtime collection.
Glenn Hoddle the two footed wizard.
Criminal how the team wasn't built around Hoddle...should have earned far more caps than he did
Most people have 2 feet ...
Not just wizards...
Diamond lights
Learning about this great sport in the US. I'm rooting for the three lions on a shirt! Singing along
This is the Bernabeu?????
jesus that pitch is disgraceful
Aare Kiviranta amazing to think thats the bernabeu pitch.
Which bit about "1987" didn't you understand?
Sgt Pluck never said he didn’t know why the pitches were like that
@@sgtpluck8344 it was the venue for the WC final in 1982.
Waddle, Hoddle, Beardsley, Robson, Lineker. We could do with them now.
Jimmy Dixon it was a solid team in that era from 84-90
And people say that 01-06 was a golden generation. Delusional.
Serial losers
Well the 01-06 team was filled with a Balon D’Or winner and a few in the conversation and genuinely named world class players. The 80s team wasn’t.
@@brentmeistergeneral6074 Only Owen won the Balon D'Or
Barcelona newspaper: Catalan player scores 4 against Spain.
He was an instinctive goal scorer who usually hit the back of the net in the big games. Those players are rare.
who’s here after the pod where gary mentioned this game?
Lineker
Beardsley
Hoddle
Waddle
Robson
Barnes
England’s true golden generation
And Bobby Robson did not know to play Waddle and Barnes together..
That was a great Spanish side too. And at The Bernabeu !!
Imagine today’s players playing on a pitch like that 😅
That effort by 3 to stop the third :)
*😲 Gary Lineker is awesome 😵*
Some real players in that eng side, so proud to wear the 3 lions
Alongside Ian Rush he was the best in the world at that time.
Marco van Basten has entered the chat
Hope you don't mean "the best player in the world"???:))))
If yes: Maradona Gullit VanBasten Matthaus...
Should've noted striker
Gary lineker one of the top gool machine..in 80..and 90..
Check out the cow paddock they are playing on. Where was this played? Slough Secondary in November?
Yep
Real Madrid. Santiago Bernabéu. 1987
Boy they had short short back in the day lol.
I went to this game, loads of trouble before and after.
Hooligans?
@@amina-pr8xt no they ran out of burgers
Same here. Proper mither too
Typical Lineker, 3 touches all game and yet bags 4 goals
Look like Wrexham
He was a top striker, Maradona recognised and acknowledge this.
'Great' decision from Howard Kendall to get rid of him from Everton.
We won the league year before without him.. Won nothing the year he was there.. Then won the league the year after he went 💙💙
@@neiljameson2145 Not think I actually know all that??? But what did we do after our 87 title win? Absolutely nothing and one of the reasons was the lack of a natural goalscorer. Lineker was world class, you could hardly say that about the strikers we brought in after he left.
Here after self same lineker referred to ut in his podcast with big micks alan sheare
That Saturn kit is absolutely disgraceful
Lloyd Hewitt-Robinson - satin ?
Gary Legend Lineker, or the "Boy Line-acher" as Mick Channon once called him.
Most of the goal in his career is not all that spectacular but an easy one. He seem to be in the right place at the right time
The tap in is the easy bit.
But all that movement, pace, twisting, jumping, sliding, timing is really really really hard to do.
Were the groundmen volunteers in those days?
What groundsman
Inform ??
The best ever who shat his pants!
Those are the kind of pitches that separate the men from the boys.
Who noticed the ref when Gary scored his third goal? He wanted to score too😂
Gran, Lineker! Visca el Barça!
Always the poacher Lineker, and not bad as the tv host 8/10
Turns out he did header
Couldn't they have waited before the local farmer was done harvesting his turnip field before starting a football match on it?
Declan rice 100 million Bryan Robson would be worth 200 million today.
100 billion more like.
Adds on this ..christ.i dunno how anyone watches vids on you tube anymore tbh..even the adds are longer than the vids now
The Spanish defense decided not to show up.
Who’s the commentator
Motty.
When most players who played for England were English, now anyone who agrees to.
Any tales of fans milling around Madird & for trouble before, during & after the gane?
Why had Beardsley no teeth.
He ate too many snickers bars
90th
better than penzema
4th
How can REAL Madrid have such an awful pitch, and nobody argued about the pitch back then. WHY ???
It was 33 years ago.....
@@asermendez2814 so
@@malotielemans3863 so what???
Many great pitches/stadiums were like that back in the days.
All pitches were pan flat back then so they didn't drain, nowadays they camber from the middle of the pitch
On the title it says 4-2 but it's 4-1
+Footie Hero the game ended 4-2, Ramon scored in 77th minute.
has Gary Lineker ever scored a goal and not ended up lying on the ground?, there's a lesson somewhere in there...
Visca Barça

TRAITOR TO HIS PEOPLE
Of course. When was the last time you scored for the national team?

The man was a goal scoring master back then… Now he is a complete Tool
Great man our Gary. If we got rid of the King and had an elected president he would get my vote
