    And what happens to these umpires who blow calls like Angel Hernandez? MLB seems to be good at handing down suspensions to players but there are times that umpires need to stop being protected by MLB.

      Only case I can think of, was the Pete Rose/Dave Pallone incident in 1988. At a game in Cincinnati, on a ground ball Pallone delayed calling the batter safe at first, as a result a run scored and denied the reds a chance to even try to throw it home. Rose stormed off the bench he and Pallone got in each other's faces, next thing you know, Rose shoved him and got ejected. Fans were furious throwing things on the field causing a 15 minute delay. The league decided to remove Pallone from the game for his own safety. Rose claimed Pallone poked him but there's no evidence of that. Rose got a 30 day suspension, at the end of the season Pallone was fired. But he later sued, claiming he was fired because of his sexuality and the Pete Rose incident was just an excuse and because of an article claiming he was involved in a sex ring involving underage boys (that was later proven to be false) and he got a big settlement.

      The first incident was very close. Close enough where a batter shouldn't let it go. Close enough for the ump to call it a strike. If it was not for the strike zone showing on the screen it would have been a strike all day long. I miss the past baseball games when none of this electronic shit was around, and it was just a game. Players were players. They played for the love of the game. Not like today where they are all millionaires and big crybabies. If MLB would take no touch protections off of umpires, those would instantly get better at their jobs or have constant black eyes.

    Eject the bad umpires that ruin the game for the players and have the backup umpire take the plate. Fans may like the fire it starts from time to time but players shouldn't have to put through this stress/emotion.

    Charlie Williams was Angel Hernandez before Angel Hernandez was Angel Hernandez.
    He makes Hernandez look like Doug Harvey.
    He pushed Rojas first.

    How about suspending the sorry UMP's for deliberately screwing up calls?

    • @Paladin327
      @Paladin327 Месяц назад +1

      If you can prove it was deliberate, and If arguing with the umpire for any reason is an automatic ejection plus suspension of at least 5 games for players, sure

    Baseball is such a weird sport. You can spit, push scream, and kick dirt on an official with nobody thinking about it. One little bat flip, and everyone loses their mind.

    Sometimes I want to see a team or teams play a game like it was "The Longest Yard". Wild pitch/throw in the direction of an ump. A simple, "hey, how about calling a clean game?"

    • @Qaianna
      @Qaianna Месяц назад

      Because players never disagree when the umpire's correct, right? No-one would ever try to throw at an umpire who makes a correct call that's against their team even if they think otherwise, right?
