And what happens to these umpires who blow calls like Angel Hernandez? MLB seems to be good at handing down suspensions to players but there are times that umpires need to stop being protected by MLB.
Only case I can think of, was the Pete Rose/Dave Pallone incident in 1988. At a game in Cincinnati, on a ground ball Pallone delayed calling the batter safe at first, as a result a run scored and denied the reds a chance to even try to throw it home. Rose stormed off the bench he and Pallone got in each other's faces, next thing you know, Rose shoved him and got ejected. Fans were furious throwing things on the field causing a 15 minute delay. The league decided to remove Pallone from the game for his own safety. Rose claimed Pallone poked him but there's no evidence of that. Rose got a 30 day suspension, at the end of the season Pallone was fired. But he later sued, claiming he was fired because of his sexuality and the Pete Rose incident was just an excuse and because of an article claiming he was involved in a sex ring involving underage boys (that was later proven to be false) and he got a big settlement.
Cubs are the worst franchise in baseball for arguing correct calls lol. When Joe Maddon coached there he would complain almost nightly ...and the funny thing is that he would get the benefit of the doubt most of the game!
Pallone got fired by the end of the season too, but he sued claiming it was just an excuse as they really wanted to fire him because of his sexuality. He ended up getting a big settlement for that.

As a Cubs fan I appreciated Zambrano as a good pitcher and hitter (for a pitcher), but always thought he tended to act like a child in the last few years with the club. His antics eventually got him put on the restricted list and pretty much ended his tenure in Chicago. Cheers....
It's comical how people get over-aggressive toward someone else when they're being held back and there's zero chance there will actually be a physical altercation.
Those last two pitches to Brett Lawrie that were called strikes were no where near the zone. Bill Miller was much deserving of the helmet getting bounced off him.
The ironic part of Carlos Zambrano getting ejected was had the runner Nyjer Morgan been called out he would’ve likely been the one ejected and gone into a tirade. Both players involved were definitely hot headed.
The first incident was very close. Close enough where a batter shouldn't let it go. Close enough for the ump to call it a strike. Baseball is human. The greatness and the inferior. However we do have the tech to improve calls. Time to change the rules. No shame in making the game as accurate as possible.
Who determines what a bad call is? Would an umpire be punished because he didn’t see a player getting tagged .0005 seconds before touching the base which can only be seen with slow motion?
I agree that players and coaches shouldn't be able to aggressively touch the referee, but the same should be true for the refs that they can't aggressively touch the players/coaches either.

Sometimes I want to see a team or teams play a game like it was "The Longest Yard". Wild pitch/throw in the direction of an ump. A simple, "hey, how about calling a clean game?"
Because players never disagree when the umpire's correct, right? No-one would ever try to throw at an umpire who makes a correct call that's against their team even if they think otherwise, right?
Umpires and football refs should have a press conference after the game to get questions about there bullshit calls to attempt to justify them.
That’s right exactly!!!
I’ve been saying the same thing.
With all the FanDuel/DraftKings money out there it is just a matter of time before there is a huge gambling scandal concerning refs/umps.
