Philip arrives in his helicopter and does the rounds and when he got to me he started asking about my badges.. well I had just picked some nice ones out the night before and did a poor job of sowing them on.. I made up what the badges were for and he obviously knew I was talking shit... He then asked how I was doing with duke of Edinburgh award that he set up and I told him it wasn't something I fancied doing because it was too much effort.. he laughed a good bit and moved on...

While Pence may be American so maybe these protocols don't apply to him, but as a Canadian watching this (commonwealth country), I am disgusted by this. Mike Pence broke one of the most important pieces of protocol there is, NEVER touch a royal. Shameful.

Clearly Pence was the one who didn't make a move to shake Charles' hand. His hands stayed folded in front of him as Charles walked past him. The look on Charles' face was almost asking if Pence would offer to shake his hand. To me this was Pence saying he doesn't need recognition or affirmation from a member of the BRF, and he doesn't but he also didn't want to be seen as snubbing Charles, hence the pat on the arm after he'd passed by.

I lived in Indiana when Pence was governor. He was low key, to the point but he got stuff done. He came alive during the debate. Liked what I saw.
