I stumbled upon your "how to get into medical school low gpa" video and was surprised for the first time to see an actual low GPA. Not 3.5, not 3.6, but 2.7 which is where I am at! I am also a financial aid recipient and was planning on graduating and retaking some of my classes but you mentioned to hold off on graduation first so you can retake those classes with financial aid if need be and then graduate. Its so comforting to hear advice from someone who I can actually relate to. I've been looking into SMP's and Post Bacc programs currently in my area after I graduate, and some of those SMP/Post Bacc's are offered by two D.O schools!! I am currently doing my research on DO and MD differences, let me know if there is anything important I need to know! Keep up the great videos, highly underrated Med RUclipsr. Goodluck on your Med School/Residency journey!

Not sure if this video is the one you saw but I go over a great website to help you choose smp programs as well as DO schools in general. I appreciate your kind comments! ruclips.net/video/tzmyinOxlC4/видео.html

Im curious… how come your school lets you do rotations all over the country? I know for us we choose but all our rotations are instate. I want to go into EM and ideally looking at UofU(idk if you’re considering that). How were you able to connect with the school to do an away rotation with them without having to use your audition rotation?

I did my undergrad at the U and worked in the other hospitals around there. My school already had an affiliation agreement with the hospital system out here so all I had to do were find preceptors to take me. I had to do all the paperwork and stuff, my school didn’t do anything.

My answer to your question is that the thinking by the ER staff was that the pole was acting as a tamponade.
Now my question for you is what is your opinion on all the open ER spots in this years match? Why do you think this happened?

Correct. The ER match was probably due to a bunch of reasons like the various articles that came out talking g about how there won’t be enough ER jobs by 2030 due to mid level rise. Another reason could be all the talk about burnout in the ER and it having the highest rate of suicide. The pandemic really took a toll on ER docs and people saw that. I think this only makes it one of the best specialties to get into right now and it highly benefits applicants.

Also, to answer your question: y’all didn’t remove the pole because doing so could damage vessels or other organs. At that point might as well fix them up and send them to OR to take it out.
