Awesome video.. Like all the folks at Melco. But can John LeDrew do all your videos from here on out.. Like the newbie approach as most of us can relate.
We have one prototype from years ago and people have been asking for more. As far as I know, there isn't one on the market. Maybe it's an opportunity for someone to make one!?
Haha, I knew someone was going to ask about that! Unfortunately that is 1 of 1. A company made one 15 years ago or so, and never pursued it further. Maybe a new business idea!?
Hooping seems to be the biggest issue with hats. Here's a vid that could help. ruclips.net/video/IC9yeRaUbm0/видео.html If you think it's still machine issues, give Melco service a jingle. melco.com/support/
Great job John! Makes me want to try hats now! Really like the "newbie" perspective...helps to see someone try it in action...and hear the same reactions we make🥴🤪🤣😂💯🤷♀️. Question on laser placement...so it is always to the right of needle? How much so I can better center to a mark on fabric...or just match needle position to mark?
Thank you, that encourages me to make more vids! So Mike explained it to me as because the hat is curved the laser will be right of the needle a bit. To double check, I would still drop the needle where you want, then eye the laser mark, take a mental note and you should be able to replicate it through production. Hope that helps.
@@MelcoEmbroidery Yes that does , I get it now ! I was stitching out last night and when I pointed the laser it was center... But like you said the hat is curved and that’s what’s throwing the light beam got it! Thanks so much yes please keep the videos coming!
Haha, it sure did go smoothly. There are so many different hats and different variables, I'm sure different styles could propose complications. I used hats from www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/63012473/ch-headwear-2020-catalog
Great video, glad the bobbin broke! Thank you 🙏🏼
I like his teaching style.
That is awesome to hear, thanks Jo Ann!

Keep an eye out, John will definitely be doing more videos on his "learning to embroider" journey.
@@MelcoEmbroidery great news I’m a newbie and will be following along too!!
Definitely need one of those hat stands like asap

Great video John.
Much obliged Mike. Like your cameo?
Great video 🙌
Much obliged!
What needs are used for hats?
What are the setting you use?
Fantastic
Awesome, glad you liked it!
Great! Thank you!
You are welcome, glad it was helpful!
Great job, I'm having a brain fart, where do you go in the software for bottom up center out
Oooh, good question. That is done when digitizing. Ask whoever is digitizing to have the sew file made that way.
Where can I get that hat stand?

I wish my machine worked like that. Sheesh

where can i get that hat stand
That was a prototype from 20 or more years ago. They never produced any, maybe someone should start making them and selling them ;)
Where did you get the stand for the hat gage
That was a prototype from 15 years ago. Maybe an opportunity to make one and sell it 🤔

Been lookin at this machine for some time and hoping that it would be compatible with Mac but nope.
I know, wouldn't that be sweet! Only way is thought parallels or something similar.
Made it look so simple! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Soooo high off the brim
Interesting observation, you are the first to mention that. I'll look into lower placement on my next adventure down hat decoration lane.
To bad you didn't do bottom up and center out. Your underlay started at the top not the bottom and that can be a problem.
I just noticed that too. I'll check with the digitizing guru.
