    THREE FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS VIDEO
    1. I had to manually REMAKE the bundle texture pixel by pixel because I didn't like how low resolution it was, it's used for the thumbnail and video, if you ever need a high resolution version of the bundle texture, hit me up.
    2.I actually got bored writing this video which explains that one middle part (if you watched, you know)
    3. Did you notice I used a new font for this thumbnail? Thats right, if you didn't notice, then it worked :)
    So what do you think? You agree with me, I do see some people saying that the bundle is too little too late in regards to inventory management, personally I think the bundle's modest storage is fits a specific niche within the game. Anyway... about that middle part, I promise it will all make sense in time... I just, may have gotten a little bored while writing the script for this so I just... well, you know... Anyway subscribe, literally every sub COUNTS at my size

      Nice video, I enjoyed it. :)
      Poor mate, you didn't have to remake it pixel-by-pixel. You can use a graphics editor program such as gimp (which is free) to scale pixel images without interpolation. I can teach you if you'd like so you don't have to go through the same effort in the future, but I don't know where to contact you.

    • @MackeeeYT
      @MackeeeYT  Месяц назад +1

      Let me just say your comment is one of the most wholesome comments I received so thank you for that. As for your offer, I do appreciate but I think im fine for now, thought I have heard of gimp before. In this case I only remade the bundle because every time I searched it on google all the images were obviously either compressed to crap or just low res.
      Honestly If I just used those images no one would've noticed, i simply just can't stand low resolution assets in my projects so i just chose to remake it. Since this was just a very niche and likely only case of me remaking an entire texture, i think i'm good for now, but who knows maybe a few months i'll be in this comment thread again, ya never know.

    The problem I have with the bundle is that you really can't choose what item you want to take out which kind of hurt its purpose of helping with inventory management because if you need to access a certain item, you either need a few empty slots available or throw everything on the ground and shuffle through your inventory hoping you pick the stuff you need up.

    • @MackeeeYT
      @MackeeeYT  Месяц назад +10

      Yeah I encountered this problem a lot when i was recording and researching this video. Though this is where you and I differ, I think i actually like the way it makes you retrieve items, since to me it actually makes you think about the order you put your items in.
      However you maybe getting your wish sooner than later, because for the little footage that mojang has shared of the recent bundle, it had a different changed ui, and I think it may be moving towards sort of what you expect with you being able to take out items as you please, don't take my word on this tho, just a theory.

    So I've been playing in my world with a datapacked bundle for about a year now and here are my thoughts: the bundle is a good inventory solution for people that are already pretty organized. Because it's no item sorter or anything game changing like that. It's the ziplock bag you store all your random screws and q tips or the zip file you have on your desktop for files you don't need right now but are too important to delete. But if you don't set aside time to put things away and have organize sessions during your exploration, you're better off not using it.
    There is another reason to use it that I haven't seen many creators content on, and that is storage of excess crafted materials in shulker boxes. So you know how you would craft a door but you only need one but you're left with three? They just take an inventory slot for just 2 extra doors you won't need. Not just this but fences, walls, or anything the crafts more than one will inevitably get you a bit of excess and that takes up a lot of shulker space. Now you can store them into one place! This has been especially useful in my redstone box because of all the singular components that I use.

    • @MackeeeYT
      @MackeeeYT  Месяц назад +3

      Your description of the bundle as a "Ziploc bag" is literally perfect bro im jealous I didn't think of that earlier. And yeah, I like the way it still encourages organization, its not just an end all be all backpack you can just shove items in, it actually takes thought and inventory management skills to use it to it's maximum capacity.

    • @SprayInk-Kreatïv-Nouveau
      @SprayInk-Kreatïv-Nouveau Месяц назад +1

      The bundle is that small bag of spare parts that you have in your tool suitcase, it has a little of everything because it doesn't fit anywhere else.

  • @hhff8534
    @hhff8534 Месяц назад +10

    now what they need to do is make items like music discs and banner patterns stackable, at least to 16. that would be absolutely perfect for the bundle. it's really annoying because in trial chambers for example you get lots of discs and banner patterns that each take up one slot which shouldn't be the case

    • @lasercraft32
      @lasercraft32 Месяц назад +6

      Banner Patterns especially have no reason to be non-stackable. Its ridiculous.

    • @MackeeeYT
      @MackeeeYT  Месяц назад

      Literally the entire reason i've never used them in survival before, cause it always takes up too much space in my inventory when exploring, the bundle is literally DESIGNED for situations like this and its refreshing to have it be alleviated

  • @ptacraftgamer7528
    @ptacraftgamer7528 Месяц назад +2

    One interesting thing about bundles is that some time ago a bit of its code got left behind one of the bedrocks betas, and according to people who "modded" the code to make it work the bundle will be a bit different than it is now, one of the changes is that you would be able to select a slot inside the bundle wich isnt possible now, another change is that it will have 3 textures instead of 2, one for when it is empty, one for when it has some items, and another for when it is full. The only thing is that ir was almost a year ago that this happened so maybe mojang could have discarted this idea

  • @hollosou335
    @hollosou335 Месяц назад +10

    The only thing that makes me feel weird about the bundle is the idea that it's the "solution" to the whole inventory problem. It's a great step forward, but I don't think it should be the only thing to address the inventory of Minecraft. Great video though, shocked that you don't have more subs.

    • @TheiBunny
      @TheiBunny Месяц назад +2

      "the inventory problem" is a bunch of problems that add up.
      there is no one single feature that could possibly address all of them at once (unless mojang decided to make stack sizes and the number of slots infinte, which isnt happening.)
      the first of these problems you run into is **capacity.**
      this baked into the core gameplay experience, and is directly tied to your progression. the game actually gives you everything you need to address this yourself already.
      you start with a limited number of item slots. you are encouraged to build a base with storage for your items as you do not have enough space to carry everything all at once. the early game provides several means of expanding your mobile inventory via chest boats, minecarts and mounts like donkeys, but they are limited by design.
      in the mid game you unlock access to ender chests, which is an inventory only you can access from anywhere in the world - even across dimensions. you will also have needed to expand the storage at your base of operations, potentially to an automated system even.
      finally in the end game you unlock shulker boxes, which let you store a chest's worth of items in a single slot, expanding on your personal inventory, mass/general storage, and ender chest "cloud" storage capacity exponentially.
      the second issue is **variety.** (item bloat/clutter as its often called)
      the bundle was added to specifically address this by letting you maximize the storage space you already have as it can hold up to 64 different items at a time, making it the perfect tool for early game scavenging, looting structures at any point, and holding on to your odd bits and ends. I personally have a bundle on my person at all times that contains items i frequently need like a crafting table, ender chest, anvil, name tag, leads, etc... some emergency logs and iron blocks for basic crafting materials... and even a clock and compass which i can use from the preview - i dont have to take them out at all.
      each of those items would otherwise require a dedicated slot in my inventory, or be stored away in a shulker box which can be combersome to use (and in some situations, like while flying/boating, even impossible without having to stop to find solid ground)
      ive also used bundles to store miscellaneous items together like written books, maps, gifts for friends.
      they arent just for the early game, but they are almost essential for it today.
      the biggest flaw with bundles tho imo is they're nowhere near as accessible as they ought to be. a cheaper, simpler recipe, and/or the inclusion of them in common structure loot should help with this.
      the last issue is **hotbar real estate.**
      between all the tools (pick, axe, shovel, hoe, shears, brush, buckets), weapons (sword, shield, trident, mace, bow, crossbow), consumables (food, potions, totems), transportation (boats, pearls, rockets, wind charges) and other utility items (like scaffolding, torches, etc)... theres not a lot of space for other things we might want, or need to use - like the variety of blocks you use while building fpr example.
      this issue doesnt currently have any official solutions, but some popular ideas like the ability to cycle between rows in the inventory as your hotbar, or a toolbelt item that lets you consolidate your tools to 1 slot and cycle between are popular for a reason.
      other ideas include an accessibility toggle for automatic appropriate-tool swapping when you start mining a block, or a "trowel" item for randomly placing an assortment of blocks would also go a long way to help.
      some of the less obvious ways mojang are already addressing these issues in some places are:
      - how a lot of new mobs dont have unique death drops anymore (including restricting armor and weapon drops from trial spawner mobs)
      - by making some items multi-purpose; i.e. the axe can function as a weapon, the and sword hoe can cover all the mineable blocks of shears between them, buckets can be used to carry some small mobs, etc...
      - by making varied blocks (like stone and deepslate ores) have the same drop, and adding more recipes for compacting items (like the raw ore blocks).
      they can continue to improve in these areas further by increasing the stack size limit of items like enchanted books, potions, snowballs, discs, banner patterns, etc... making more existing items multi-purpose instead of adding more hyper specific single-use tools...
      and a controversial take of mine: removing certain foods - specifically all the different types of raw and cooked meat.
      instead of each animal having its own unique item drop (and some not having one at all), they would just drop either "raw meat", "raw poultry" or "raw fish", and the amount they drop depending on the size of the animal. this way because of the ambiguity, future mobs (and current mobs without) can easily be given a food drop.

    The main different between shulker boxes and bundles e.g. shulker boxes requires you to place, open its contents and break it anywhere in your world and then puts it back to your inventory since it'a an entity storage block. As for bundles; well, you just open up the tab and click it to show its contents inside, and also it gives less room for more space with different stackable items, so the concept is simple.

  • @R1ch4rd74
    @R1ch4rd74 Месяц назад +2

    What would sell me on bundles is if we can put full shulker boxes in them. if not. i'll just stick to using shulker boxes in my ender chest. i use a silk touch pickaxe to pick up the ender chest with the shulker boxes in it.

    The bundle probaly going to be a one trick pony, if you store a single item liek a totem in a random assortmant of blocks and items in a bundle to get that totem you have to fully dump the contents on the ground as yoru inventory could be full so you have to put each block and item bac kinto the bundle after picking it up off the ground but leave the totem i nyour inventory, alot of hastle for just a totem or some otehr bitem or block you need in that bundle.
    it would be good if yo ucan take a indivisual item out of the bundle as like if you had a bag filled with items in real life you can jsut find the item you need without dumping it, it would be much mroe useful in my opinio nif mojang has it where you can take items out of the bundle either from dumping it or right click the air with it and have a menu to take stuff out of it.

    I’m glad they didn’t just drop the idea completely, but come on!
    This is worse than when only Java players, could put banners on shields! I was disappointed, but not really upset, since it was just an extra feature Java players had. After all, Bedrock players had things we could do, that Java couldn’t…like using cauldrons to dye stuff.
    But Bundles are a real useful tool, that really helps a player!
    I realize I might get some hate by saying this, but they should NOT have added Bundles to Java, until Bedrock players could have them too!

    What about the shulker box? It's literally same as bundles so? There isn't any problem with it either.

    One thing I'm excited for is the storage of totems/potions because rather than being able to store 27 per shulker box you can store 1728 (27 slots in shulker * 64 storage in bundle)! Even if they nerf it so bundles can't go in shulker boxes that's still over double the amount of non stackable items compared to shulker boxes and this is especially good if you have a raid farm. After a few raids I am almost out of totem storage (I have 3 shulker boxes for totems) so looking forward to the official release.

      Bundles can't hold 64 non-stackable items... They can only hold one. How much the bundle can hold is based on the stack size (i.e. you can only hold 16 ender pearls, 1 potion, 1 sword, etc. per bundle). Its a really stupid design imo, because non-stackable items are one of the biggest problems with inventory management.

      I don't think only the unstackables are a problem early game 🙂 I think stackables can fill your inventory soon, too

    I have always though bundles were pointless because of the 1 stack limit. how is it supposed to save any inventory space at all if it only holds 1 stack. It should hold 2 stacks and allow your to put 2 tools in it instead of 1.

      @MackeeeYT  Месяц назад +1

      My feelings towards bedrock are like my feelings towards my ex-wife, complicated. While I am a Java player first and foremost, I actually ended up growing up with bedrock for a good portion of my childhood due to circumstances requiring me to only have access to a phone so I played bedrock exclusively then. Though ever since like 2017 I've been a diehard Java player since having access to a pc.
      What's funny is that the video AFTER my next video will be about bedrock edition and my feelings towards it so if you're willing to wait like 3 weeks I might have it out by then, I have a LOT to say about bedrock.
