No matter what Disney and/or the courts say, Clayton Moore will always be the real Lone Ranger to his fans.

A true role model! Clayton Moore WAS The Lone Ranger. He didn't just follow The Lone Ranger creed on set, he lived it!

First time I have seen this and it's absolutely fantastic to see Clayton Moore getting the recognition he truly deserves. How could anyone deny him the right to call himself the Lone Ranger--there is no other and there will be no other. He was idolised the world over and especially here in Britain.Even my mate Dave Lucas got a "Lone Ranger" suit for his birthday.Fabulous, fabulous!!

Clayron Moore was a GREAT man. I interviewed him at his home. Years later, he was present in Oklahoma City when I won a Wrangler Award from the Cowboy Hall of Fame for writing. He had won a Wrangler years before. I could receive no greater honor than to be linked to him.

Clayton Moore is the only person on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to have his name AND character on his star. I doubt anyone else will ever be honored so greatly. There's only one Lone Ranger, Clayton Moore.

Actually, you are incorrect. Bob Keeshan ALSO has his character's name, Captain Kangaroo, on his star.

      @MovieMakingMan 4 года назад +1

TheTreasureHouse I didn’t know that. Thanks. I searched the net and I couldn’t find a picture of Bob Keesan’s star. The only one I could find with the actor’s name and character was Clayton Moore/The Lone Ranger. Both men were outstanding people who gave a lot to this world. We need more people like them today. It was wonderful to see Clayton Moore finally honored for his terrific portrayal of The Lone Ranger with his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Moore took his role seriously and unlike George Reeves who disliked playing Superman, Moore was always proud of his character and what it represented. I watched The Lone Ranger as a young boy and will never forget him. Thanks for the posting.

A fine actor and a truly great man. He knew exactly his obligations to his fanbase and the combination of quiet dignity so lacking in the young these days. RIP Clayton - no one has earned the right to do so more than you.

When our son was about five, Clayton Moore was making an appearance at a local mall. I knew it wouldn't be quite the same for him as it would be for me, but we took him anyway. I'd watched him on television as a child and later introduced his films as a television host on a local station in Illinois. He was old Hollywood all the way...good showman!

he appeared at the grand opening of Wicke's Emporium in West Sacramento in the 1980s. There were thousands of kids and adults who waited for hours to see him, the adults were even more excited than the kids. They had to call out more police as he was absolutely mobbed and stayed 3 hours and was only supposed to stay for 1. He's not forgotten in our hearts nor is the great Jay Silverheels.

Clayton Moore won't be forgotten as he will always be the Lone Ranger to thousands of us who watched the show. Doesn't matter if he has to wear sunglasses because the "owners" of his mask won't permit him to wear it. because of their copyright laws

Some may see him as a lame hero of yesterday, but that hero paved the way for other heros to be created. Much respect to all heroes including Clay and Jay. I bought the entire series box set 5 yrs ago b4 the Disney film was even thought of. Gorgeous set I might ad. Im currently watching it which led me to come check out some u tube vids. Like many, this was one of the earliest Saturday morning shows I recall jumping outta bed for in the early 80s; yes, I said the 80s. That's how long they both went from the 50s inspiring generations of kids. I hope he's inspiring somewhere at this very moment. Hi Ho Silver!!!

There were other Lone Ranger actors but Clayton will forever be the one who I grew up with and admired - I watched him on the "radio" than on TV with his faithful Indian companion Tonto (Jay Silverheels) and of course his trusty horse Siver. Those were better times, kinder in so many ways. So "gettem up Scott" & a hardy "Hi YO Silver"....away....

an adoption agency would not let Clayton Moore adopt a boy because they said no boy could live up to the expectations of the Lone Ranger. I mark that time as the begining of the end for this country.

1musiclvr Hey, I know this is 6 years later, but I just wanted to point out it wasn't Disney that stopped him from wearing the mask. It was because of the 1981 movie version (Trainwreck!} that the lawsuit was made.

Clayton Moore for me was the lone ranger when I was growing up they took his mask and made a bad movie in 79 I still watch it today on tv and DVD in 1987 they still would not let him wore it at the ceremony he's still the lone ranger

Wow. :) This man is the reason why I am flat out broke at the moment! I'm actually sad enough to have invested 'for the future' in Lone Ranger DVDs, but the buck stops in the 50s for me. Disney may have ripped Clay of his mask, but they will NEVER remake a Lone Ranger as great as this man!

I was hoping someone would correct misinformation posted. Disney only in '09 got the rights to do a LR movie. The Jack Wrather Corporation, at the time of the Hollywood Star, did not allow Clayton Moore to wear a mask during their movie with Klinton Spillsbury. I saw Clayton Moore at an opening for a store years ago. After the movie did poor box office, Clayton said wearing the mask was restored "like a man throwing his dog a bone". He had more dignity than that to accept it as an after thought.

Small correction for the person who posted this. You mentioned the wrong company. It was not Disney. It was Wrather Corp. was responsible for the court order to prevent Clayton Moore from wearing the mask for a few years. (They eventually gave it back to him.)

You can look it up by typing LONE RANGER MOVIE 1956 IDMB to see I am not wrong it is however the one and only time he did..But you will see he did.
