66 years ago when I was 2, I named my one & only rocking horse Sildo...because I couldn't pronounce Silver. Thanks to Jay Silverheels & Clayton More... in my 2-4 year old mind Sildo & I went on many adventures hunting down outlaws. I still have old Sildo in his stable of honor. His wooden rockers are worn, and his pinto paint fading, but I'd wager both he & I are up to one more ride. "Hi-Ho Sildo...Away!"
You can tell that Clayton Moore was a great man as well. A long time ago when there were great and honorable men.I have always liked and respected them both, and now, even more
Clayton Moore was really the Lone Ranger kept in shape all his life he would take a running jump on to his horse ride like the wind always treated jay as an equal which was really ground breaking for that time. They treated each other with respect at all times
Thomas Vasiloff I just turned 70 and I can remember watching these at age three and four years old learning to read off of the new television. These two & Roy Rogers were my idols.

It's a shame that for the last 40 years children had no roll models like these .The Lone Ranger was a great show for children .I still watch the reruns and I am 70 .Our children would be better off today if Hollywood hadn't decided to become so wicked and vile. And the stars of this show Jay and Clay were decent people in real lives as well as the screen .They stood for honor and decency and good always won over evil .But today evil is what our young people's minds have been bombarded with .The Lone Ranger and Gene Autry never propagandized children nor did they lead them astray . There were others as well , as the Cisco Kid .And too many of them pushed the saloon drinking and saloon women as a way to relax .Leading to the idea of the after work cocktail .Then you can see the influence that the tv had on our population of alcoholics and loose sex . Even cartoons today have been ruined .Adults put to many things in these cartoons that children are incapable of handling nor should they .Like Disney wants the princess to have an abortion .Really sick and perverted .This is the same crowd that kills our young .And they fight to keep descent heroes like Jay and Clay away from them . Now we see why America's youth is so messed up .Plus a whole lot of other reasons !
Louise Smith oh I know it's true with the garbage that's on TV today watching the reruns of these men is so refreshing. Also don't forget hopalong Cassidy and who is that other guy that was Spanish? I remember another hero he had a Spanish name. Or maybe he had a sidekick named Pablo was that the Cisco kid?
Absolutely right. I used to wake up on Saturday's to watch all my favorites including Superman, and even a lot of cartoons had a citizen message in them.. So sad how Hollywood had debased every thing.
Yes so true. I am in Australia, and remember coming home from school, 1956 and seeing the lone ranger, mum and dad had just bought their first television, and so that show was the beginning of television for me. Also loved to watch tales of Wells Fargo with Jim Hardy special investigator.
I'm so glad I got to witness a great show like The Lone Ranger it truly was a Class Act and one hard to follow well written the actors were point on it truly was a blessing in my childhood!!
I remember the first time the Lone Ranger and Tonto were on tv. I always watched them. This was a fantastic time in my young life. I'm 69 now and I still haven't forgotten about them. I miss them .

And then someone who knew who the masked man was would say, "Why, that's the Lone Ranger!!" And I learned right from wrong on that show, along with my parents guidance. RIP Clayton and Jay.
I rem, ember as a boy laying on the floor in our living room in front of our old Motorola console radio listening to the Lone Ranger, with Brace Beamer as the Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto.
I truly loved Jay and Clayton Moore in the "Lone Ranger." I remember listening to the "Lone Ranger" on the radio when I was growing up. Later, when the show moved to TV, I never missed an episode. Love to watch the re-runs.
WOW HIS DAUGHTER LOOKS LIKE HIM. JAY SILVERHILLS IS MY FAVORITE INDIAN EVER THERE WAS NO ONE LIKE HIM I STILL WATCH THE LONE RANGER SHOW THE VERY BEST WESTERN TV SERIES EVER. As a young boy growing up on the Connally Hereford Ranch in south Texas, my earliest heroes were my mother’s brothers. Nevertheless, I had other heroes as well, men who rode the range on the silver screen. Among my favorites were the Lone Ranger and Tonto. In later years, my Uncle Merrill loved to relate the story of how one Saturday morning I came extremely close to missing an episode of my favorite television show. Having hidden beneath a bed to avoid a whipping my mother felt I deserved, she gave me a choice. I could either come out from beneath the bed and take my punishment or forego that weeks episode of The Lone Ranger. One of the first tv shows I ever watched in the early 50's on black and white TV. Could not wait to see it. Had no TV so had to go to a neighbors to watch the show. What is funny, is I'm now watching The Lone Ranger on Verizon TV #245. Love to sing the theme slong as it is playing.

As a child of the ‘50s, I had 3 role models. Superman, Captain Midnight, and the Lone Ranger and Tonto. I modeled myself after their ideals of justice, bravery and patriotism. I eventually enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War and served as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for 27 years. I own DVDs now of my heroes and still watch them at age 69. “Strength through justice and courage.” Out.
Do you remember - his reminder to eat 3 meals a day, each meal being like one of the three fibers in a rope, and to be strong so you can do the right thing ??? We could use more of that modeling today..
Always over his acting, and found his painting at Sudlerrsvile, MD, presented to the owners of the horse that he jockeyed at Dover Downs, he's been part of my life, since I was 6 years old, I'm 79 now,

That's right, I am about to be 70 years old and still watch every episode I can find. My grandfather had a white percheron horse named stella and when I was a small boy I whined and complained until my father set me on the horses' back. I was so small that my legs could not even go around the horses' side but still I wanted to ride a white horse like the lone ranger. Also I remember my father and myself listening to the Lone Ranger on the radio, before we got television.
@@@strattuner, yeah, it is really disappointing. The Bible teaches me to be forgiving and humble and appreciative. In Matt 22:37-40 there are the two great commandments: love God and love ones neighbors. The hate mongering spewed by so many, especially the commie/socialist Democrats, these days reveals a profound "blackness" in their souls; I think then to be Satan's acolytes. Why honor someone except to let him know we appreciate his work and the enjoyment it has brought to our lives. In my old age I see lots of "false or pseudo" Christians and they reveal themselves when they deny forgiving the sins of others but beg to be forgiven of their sins. I question Rob Manfred's Christian foundation.
