- How to hike the Red Valley and Rose valley trails from Goreme in Cappadocia.
This is a fantastic day hike which can easily be done independently from Goreme. A walk into the spectacular scenery of the colourful rocky landscape of Cappadocia. Past fairy castles, historic rock hewn Byzantine churches, deep caves and along trails with breathtaking views.
This hike is a trekkers dream and is also easily accessible so costs absolutely nothing to do. You can walk in and out yourself and there is no entrance fee into the national park or churches that you visit en route. Just pack some lunch and have a good day out!
The trail can be difficult to follow so I recommend using a map app on your smartphone for navigation. I used Maps.Me which is great for hiking, is free to download and can be used offline.

Yes they do rent mountain bikes here although the trails are soft and sandy in places so could be hard work on a bike 😁 ATV and horse riding trips are the other popular ways to get around the valleys.

The train is too difficult because it doesn't really go near to Goreme so the bus is much easier. It was quite comfortable and cost only 140TL each. We recommend Metro bus company. 😊
