I personally loved the ending and it couldn't have been more perfect. Save me was never a romance drama and this kind of open ending works just right for me.

You know one thing I *REALLY* would have wanted in the final episode was maybe showing Dong Cheol being exonerated of the so called crimes he was sentenced for 3 years? This guy *literally* had his entire youth, education, dream job as a police and his grandmother ripped apart from him due to corruption and injustice. I just wished they showed that maybe they scratched that off his record or SOMETHING, you know??? An acknowledgment that the justice system has failed him and to re-write the wrongs they've committed against him, I just really would have liked that.

The last few scenes had too many hints of a possible SM-SH pairing. So SH fans can rejoice. Stop crying. This drama isn't a romance, it's never been promised a romance. But what's the problem if she got Sang Hwan? For God's sakes, she asked him to save her several times, there was a feeling that united the two, so she trusts him so much. I'm not saying they loved each other. About the Dong-Cheol, he just looked at her, and that's not a declaration of love. So stop whining. The good of the story that she can finally be happy with her mother, more than deserved. But to put more firewood on the campfire they two make a beautiful couple.

Honestly this is like the first time in Drama history that the main lead wasn't meant for the girl, even in the beginning of the drama Dong Chal saw her first the dude was smitten it was intense! Who was it that saved her first? Dong chal! The main lead wasn't very likable to me he was just a pest getting in the way all the time in glad she didn't end up with anyone, to those saying it's not a romance drama, y'all are irritating the whole reason why these guys were helping her is because they had crushes on her! Like c'mon it's like they decided last min not to have her choose anyone cause damn near the whole country wanted it to be dong chal I'm glad it was no one the way I see it, if it's not dong chal it's no one and besides dramas don't always have to be about romance and all that this drama depicted a very serious topic we don't need romance to water it down (but still, team dong chal all the way lol 😆).

Exactly. I guess they made it this way because Taec fans were openly angry at the production team for not making Sang Hwan look like a first lead for most of the drama (Dong Cheol stealing the show..) so they decided to do it in the last episode, which looked very awkward most of the time.

Stop crying. This drama isn't a romance, it's never been promised a romance. But what's the problem if she got Sang Hwan? For God's sakes, she asked him to save her several times, there was a feeling that united the two, so she trusts him so much. I'm not saying they loved each other. About the Dong-Cheol, he just looked at her, and that's not a declaration of love. So stop whining. The good of the story that she can finally be happy with her mother, more than deserved. But to put more firewood on the campfire they two make a beautiful couple.

Honestly this is like the first time in Drama history that the main lead wasn't meant for the girl, even in the beginning of the drama Dong Chal saw her first the dude was smitten it was intense! Who was it that saved her first? Dong chal! The main lead wasn't very likable to me he was just a pest getting in the way all the time in glad she didn't end up with anyone, to those saying it's not a romance drama, y'all are irritating the whole reason why these guys were helping her is because they had crushes on her! Like c'mon it's like they decided last min not to have her choose anyone cause damn near the whole country wanted it to be dong chal I'm glad it was no one the way I see it, if it's not dong chal it's no one and besides dramas don't always have to be about romance and all that this drama depicted a very serious topic we don't need romance to water it down (but still, team dong chal all the way lol 😆).

I don’t care that this doesn’t have romance. I’m just sad they didn’t have a court scene I love court scenes in Korean dramas especially when there’s corruption and murder involved. On a side note the Mom definitely divorced the Dad in the end so at least she and Sang-Mi can live happily.

Exactly. I guess they made it this way because Taec fans were openly angry at the production team for not making Sang Hwan look like a first lead for most of the drama (Dong Cheol stealing the show..) so they decided to do it in the last episode, which looked very awkward most of the time.

(is it selfish to want a separate romance drama of these three? XD)
FOR THOSE UNSATISFIED WITH THE ENDING, HERE IS MY VERSION FOR IT:
The scene after this ending scene goes like this (lololol)
Sang hwan goes away to the army, now the four remain, sang mi and dong cheol and man hee and jung hoon, they talk for a bit, and dong cheol offers to drop sang mi home, and jung hoon and man hee get on one bike and dong cheol and sang Mi get on another.
Dong cheol drops sang mi home and she invites him.inside for a supper, or a way to thank him, but he says he'll take a rain check on it, he has to go and see his father at the hospital. Then he asks her what will she do now that it's all over? She shrugs and says, maybe start over from where I left? They decide to take the school completion exam together so they can go forward. Eventually they hang out more and more, dong cheol gets on with Sang mi's omma like a damn fine son, and he already calls her omoni (so there it is) and gradually sang mi becomes aware of dong cheo's actual feelings, and one day casually asks him about it, like in a way, how come you gave up so much for me when we were actually never that close? And then he would confess that he'd actually fell in love with her at first sight, but even if he didn't, he still would've done nothing different than what he did for her, because it was the right thing to do. (;_; oppa is so precious) She's be moved to tears, and he'd act all shy and smile at her. eventually they'd start going out, slowly, very slowly, and they'd get married, sang hwan would return, and he'd be happy for them, and they'd have so many pretty babies and they'll have that k-drama beach walk together, where she's smiling and laughing, and dong cheol is just staring at her, taking in this happiness in its most beautiful form with his eyes.
