At last . Of all the lessons I have had over the years no one has explained this move in such detail . All I have had is “ stay down through the shot” Now I have something to work on . Many thanks
The angle of the alignment stick in your belt and the shaft of the club are parallel and on the same plane at impact when seen from behind. This is so helpful to see the two angles align when done correctly.
Hey dude, just come across your channel and love the videos. I’m a +3 golfer and suffer from early extension and have done for the best part of a decade. Just can’t get rid of it no matter what I try! Was wondering if I could send you a couple of swing videos and see if you can diagnose me and help cure this horrible golfing killer!
Hogan’s magic triangle, right elbow juxtaposed to right belt will escort the forward pressed grip thru impact, will assist the pelvic turn too! Balance in the finish, avoid the forward fall, and hold the finish pose. All deliver a good strike.
Great drill. I found that using this hip move resulted in almost constant shanking of the golf ball. Wondering if that is a concern and how to address that. Thanks for the guidance.
That is definitely not what we want. Something is moving towards the golf ball, perhaps your hips are moving out to the ball or your hands and club head.
A lot of times trying to get the hips back gets the club kinda throwing out towards the ball, it seems opposite but every actions has an equal reaction. I’ve seen trying to keep the hips back cause shanks many many times. Keep your trail heel down until after impact and make sure your trail knee is moving in & back towards the lead knee, NOT out to words the ball. Trying to get the left hip back can make the right side shoot out towards the ball, when the right side moves out so do the hands & club. Combined with feeling lower hands through impact, NOT letting the handle get high should fix el hosels.
Hi Zach, thanks for upload. For the average hack what is your opinion of former tour winner Larry Rinker teaching most players should actually 'stand up' thru impact, golf can be so confusing.
Have not heard that he advocates this. But the way most amateurs early extend, which leads to a lot of back pain, and a timing nightmare. The harder they swing, the more they stand up. Really tough to regulate and predict the amount.
Feeling of greatness!
Might have stole that from Moe
Great Video Zach - I will be working on this negative extension
Yeah it can change things.

That’s great to hear, love it when something really comes together.
😊
I feel like this lesson was geared to me. Thank you!
I'm so glad!

Zach, please do a video for a bigger and older golfer. Thanks!

Great video! Used this set-up and move, went out and shot 75. I'm 69 and still play from the white tees.
Man that is amazing. Way to put it in play and trust it.
Played today and shot 76 using the same set-up and move. Appreciate the help, will suggest your channel to my playing partners.@@ZachAllenGolf
