Jimmy your channel is by far the best golf channel on youtube. I've taken lessons from different instructors, wasted a shit ton of money on training aids and other shit, and saw minimal improvement with my swing. This video hands down changed my swing and my game and instilled a lot more confidence. I literally went through every club in my bag and incorporated this swing concept and hit every single club further than I ever have without trying to crush the ball. Turn it, leave it and go! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I have listened to so much “instruction“ on the Internet that I’m in knots. I played baseball my whole life, including at the college level and I could immediately relate to this. I have an open acre in the back yard and started hitting 52° in my yard and started smoking’ the ball. This is the best instruction I’ve ever received and I’m 72 years old. The ball is firing off the club.

Yup, best illustration of the golf swing EVER. BUT WITH ONE EXCEPTION. We never KEEP the head down….and Jimmy doesn’t do it. You keep it on its axis behind the ball and allow it to turn after contact. Keeping your head DOWN after contact, is a swing killer.

As I've aged, now 68, my swing has shortened but I still hit it long. But my friends were always commenting on how short my swing has gotten. An insructor at GT kept trying to get me to make a bigger hip and shoulder turn to unleash even more power he beleived I was not taking advantage of with my short swing. Well, my back and body just don't won't allow me to take a longer swing without really straining and I'm way less consistent hitting the sweet spot. When I do, yea, I can hit it a little further. But Its just not worth it. This video and your other one on "Half Swing" made me realize I'm ok just staying with my short swing and I still hit it past all of my buddies. So thanks for reinforcing this valuable concept!! it Absolutely works. Love it.

I agree and the ball goes straight every time because the club face is ALWAYS square to the ball and the target. Length is not near as critical as straight !

I used this mindset the last two times I played. I only played 9 the first time and shot 42, today I played 18 at a championship course and shot 87. I normally start getting frustrated. Not today, I was totally unbothered by bad shots. In fact, I followed up my doubles with pars today. This is such great info for people!

Thanks Jimmy ! Let me tell you I've been studying the golf swing for many years explained by most of the great players of the game , I took the game up when I was 28 and now I'm 65 and play and practice every chance I get since then , I remember one golf swing footage explanation that was in black and white and this man said just turn and take the club back and up as you are showing then he said now you are ready hit the ball , Just turn your body toward the target and hit the ball , And he demonstrated and it looked just like what your doing , So perfect and and powerful with balance , You are so correct in what you are now doing , Thank You for this Video , And I Think Mister Hogan would strongly Agree !

Thanks for pointing out the cause-effect relationships between excessive movement and the golf swing. Your teaching method is organized, straightforward, AND SIMPLE. By the way, the mechanics of the hips turning to swing the club (arms) are identical to throwing a right or left hook in boxing. The hips are involved. They move the arms to generate power (without the haymaker "backswing"). Thanks to your swing demonstration I am able to see a correlation between the two.

Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy! You stole my stuff! Well at least now I don’t have to start my own golf RUclips Channel. I call what you’re saying many different things to help people get it.
“Get to the top and hold your angles “
“Rotate your hitting unit down to the ball”
“Also I tell them there is no down I the golf swing “
And for back up as I see you have a doubter or two this is what the guru Greg McHatton teaches! He calls it “hitting the ball as late in the swing as possible “!!

Excellent insight, you have a good swing, and besides not being dialed into the speed of the greens, you probably break 80, so you are a helluva golfer. This is my first glimpse at your incredulous nature at coming upon a holy grail of a sort. Your vids are really great for handicap golfers & showing without cuts adds credibility 100%. Great approach to teaching the swing, with the 'wave at the camera' and the shift to the left at the start of the downswing ( 'jacuzzi' got me thinking about a whole different approach to long putts) and the downward move of the right palm. It all works. In case some folk are confused re turning the shoulders, the reality, if you halt the downswing at impact, your chest still faces the ball, or just slightly ahead of it, the full turn to face the target completes the follow through....
