      Glad it was helpful to you!
      I do feel this video is a little bit outdated. I've incorporated the changes in the newer videos.
      I suggest to have a look at this video that explains the "better" approach:

    I always look at other people's solutions to find inspiration and extend my own. I was very eager to learn how you did the section with your last contact just to realize you do it the exact same way I do it. I also have the log:: notation!

    I am having an issue making the people profiles template more specifically the data view code I typed it up just as you made it and it's not making the table

      Hi there.
      In the past year some of the code that worked a year ago does note seem to be working anymore. In my latest videos I have made slight changes to the functionality.
      Specifically the LinkedIn profile picture code - which I recommend to just copy past the image into your vault.

    Very useful template structure, it's helpful to be able to follow your development of the code, many videos skip over small details that can be frustrating to figure out, thanks for taking the time to provide the step by step details. Have you tried using Templater folder templates? Since you have a People folder it seems like making the People template the default when a note is added to the People folder would expedite People note creation and perhaps also simplify the Dataview query by using FROM the Daily Notes folder. Don't know yet, playing with this....

      Hi there Jim! Thanks for the compliment!
      I have not played around with the Templater folder templates. But it is on my todo list now ;).
      I am also working on an updated meeting and people template video in the near future - In the meantime I've changed a lot of things that i find works better.

    Someone may already have caught this, but your Dataview query is not quite right. As given in this video, the query will return not only the 'log' row where the person is mentioned, but ALL 'log' rows for that particular note. You need to apply a final filter function to the 'rows.Details' array before outputting it in the table. So instead of:
    TABLE
    rows.Details AS "Details"
    you need:
    TABLE
    filter(rows.Details, (a) => contains(a,this.file.name)) AS "Details"
    I struggled with this for too many hours, but ended up learning how to use 'filter' and understand the '(a)=>' syntax. Hope it helps some traveller.

    Hey bro. Can you make a video of effective task management and how can use obsidian to CRM for at least minimal business purposes?

    • @construct_by_dee
      @construct_by_dee  Год назад

      Hi there. Any specific use-case you can give me? Like a typical scenario of features you would find useful in a task management system within Obsidian, and also on the CRM side?

    • @Drugvigil
      @Drugvigil Год назад

      @@construct_by_dee I am not seen any effectiveness of task management in obsidian. Can we set reminder in obsidian task management, can it remind me on time possible?
      Secondly, I am doing a start-up so I am trying to use obsidian as CRM, but I don't find any videos in such category like finance management, tracking business activities, putting me reminders at least.

    • @construct_by_dee
      @construct_by_dee  Год назад +1

      Hi again. I don't think that Obsidian is suited for what you need from it. Yet...
      For finance that will get more complicated as your company grows, choosing a solution tailored to finance within a start-up context is better. You'll find it challenging to have a clear overview of all the money that flows in and out if you use Obsidian.
      For my personal finances - I have a high tolerance for investing time to input data. The best way to stay on top of my finances is to log expenses and income on my daily note as they come in. I then have a dataview query where I summarise that information every week/month/year. For me, it works wonders. For others, I would assume the tolerance for entering every detail would be too low. But if I were to start a company, I'd do it like this because I want to know where all my money is going.
      Regarding task management, Obsidian, to my knowledge, does not have push notifications available. So if you want to use it as a to-do list and task management system, you'll need to build it out on a MOC (Map of Content) -like the page and visit it frequently.
      I'm working on a more advanced task management process for myself - and, hopefully, will make a video about it in the next month or so. Feel free to give a specific example of what you want to do - and I'll give my opinion. Hopefully, some other community members can also give their opinion here!

    that's a nifty bit of code @18:15 :
    > \' ="! [imagename | 250] ( " + this.metadatavar+ ")" \`
    the syntax obsidian provides is returned back to it and read by it
    from what little I've managed to understand
    - so the surrounding backticks ' ' are for inline code the []\() is standard for ext links in obsidian
    - the | 250 is for size in int as well as ext links
    - this.metadatavar returns exactly what's associated with given "metadatavar" in current file
    - the ! is used to embed links of all sorts as usual
    - the = returns all this to the inline code block hope it helps someone
    - the outside most " " are perheaphs for returning the whole thing as a string to the code block
    - and the " " inside the round bracket are for just whitespace??
    I hope this helps someone, and pls feel free to elab. on what I've missed or gotten wrong

      Thanks for clarifying the piece of code!
      Just a note for other people watching this video - I recommend pasting the photo into your vault as a person might choose to update their LinkedIn photo - which results in a new URL linked to their picture, which in turn breaks the picture with the old URL in your vault.

    I was considering how to best log my social interactions with friends & family. I don't need meeting notes but this video certainly inspired me! Dataview is so versatile I love it. And the integration with daily notes is great
    I'll link another approach that I found very interesting. Perhaps to give back or idk maybe I'm interested in your take on Zsolt's way of connecting daily notes & ppl notes
    ruclips.net/video/qIKg_1FNUgk/видео.html
    I like that he makes the full note available on both pages. Having the main note in the person's page has an advantage bec it could be as long as you want without being restricted by the table format of dv
    But you also don't lose having the note in daily note (aka when you revisit that day's daily note you can still read everything as it is an embed)
    The downside being creating the script isn't easy since it's not as versatile as dv. DV is just mainstream
