Hey, I felt exactly the same way as you 3-4 years ago. As I was learning how to shuffle no one else seemed to know about it or seemed interested at all, but we live in a different generation now! Thats crazy. We were doin this in Houston, Tx way back in the 99. Age 14. Word on the streets at that time was Houston had the footwork. Everywherr else kinda flailed and did glow sticks. We had those finger lights and that expanding and contracting globe for that extra flair but it was all about the "kick, stomp" dance back then. At Lonestar arena im surprised we didnt level the place since we were doing that on the second floor with hundreds of people. Probably 1000!

You utter champion! @YoAlanKun Amazing breakdown. Hope you're doing well... big thanks for the knowledge! Takes a lot of understanding to break something down and make it simple. Planning to execute a dodgy Running Man and Shuffle a couple of months from now at my first hardstyle gig, and if they look non-shit it'll be due to you. Genuine thanks!
Hey Alan, I'm trying to get into the rave scene, and I found hardstyle was my favorite, it was missing dancing I wanted to dance badly, and your video helped me get the basics going. I just tried it tonight and loved it. I think over the next month I'll have it down smoothly. So I really appreciate this video, if you could make an advanced version that'd be awesome!

please do never in your life take this video down, i wanted to do a T but didn't know it was called that way and couldn't find any tutorials. U really helped me out, thanks!
It seems that people like some of which I saw in the comments are forgetting the meaning the real Melbourne/Hardstyle Shufflers left behind for the new gens or those just wanting to do it for fun; "Dance to express, not impress." So there is no perfect person, there is skill and style. And quote: "I know I'm not the best shuffler out there, but I think I know enough to teach you guys" -Alan. The more work you put into it the more you get out.
The simplest things in life are actually the hardest things to do. This looks so simple and easy but it’s not until you dedicate yourself to it and have that “ahaa” moment where it just clicks and then it becomes easy and natural 🥰
I bet you're younger than 25 based on that comment. The world is largely a nightmare but it goes in cycles. This video isn't "so 2010." It's "so some point in time when there was some positivity in the world." It will come back around. But you and the youth have to create it. Good times don't come for free. Be good kids, help each other, and we will have "so 2010" times again soon. Just gotta be good to each other.
I can’t tell you how many times I have came across this video and being someone who has done hip hop. Control is so important and emphasizing the necessary steps that are needed to make it more appealing then what others are sharing in RUclips 🤔 you need more content brother 🙏🏻
I think some jumpstyle tracks have gotten popular a few months ago, so more people wanted to learn how to jumpstyle dance. (That's why I'm here atleast)
Thank you so much for a simple yet detailed explanation! I'm hoping to learn to shuffle! Right off the bat after watching this video a few times i got the moves down (since i have shuffled before and done a few of these moves before) i just need to keep track of balance, and muscle memory (is that what you call it?) I'll try training in my back yard, or maybe some large empty space if my mother lets me, and if we could find a spot lol
Don't worry about staying on beat for EVERY song. You've already noticed that it looks sloppy and you get tired, until you've built the stamina there's no point! If you record yourself it honestly looks completely fine as long as you're TRYING to stay on beat
You did great considering I’m a mum from Melbourne and my daughter back in the day used to mix with some of the great shufflers in Melbourne Australia Lisa
Well if you are still in California ....and anywhere close to San Diego... You should stop by and try to instruct my 3 young granddaughters. Ages 10, 9, and almost 8. I really wish they could learn to shuffle old school .... you did a great job with your video .... thank you!

I appreciate you and this tutorial! Been raving for a while but only just getting my dancing down..this style really speaks to me. Gonna bust it out at EDC this year.
The goal is to keep the waist /core right where you want it at all times, generally the same high off the ground. The dancer pushes off the ground just enough with each grounding step to maintain the core's elevation, thereby freeing up the legs and feet to move seemingly weightlessly, and enabling the dancer to pull off almost anything they could do if dangling from an adult-sized toddler walker. It's the core. That's why all the best dancers in virtually any style are ripped, even if not lean (though they're often that, as well). Strengthen your core and all dancing becomes a matter of moving limbs and body wherever you want your core to go-a lot like swimming, only vertically and without the buoyancy.
