Thank you so much for your videos Thomas! My 100 gal suffered a crack after a move👎🏻 With that being said... you have given me the knowledge & confidence to replace the panel 👍🏻 New subscriber here🙂
I bought the same tank second hand and it looks exactly like that I also thought someone tried to reseal as well but I guess that's just how they were made, thanks for the video
This is perfect for me I got a tank that's been outside weathered with stand, pumps heaters, filters, the silicone hs been pulled, and peeled back in several places. I'm a patient person by nature, and I'm eager to see how you make it framless.
Hi very informative video. silicone I got is really thick and hard to get a uniform bead. Is there a easy way think it down at the same time safe for fishes?
i broke one piece of my glass panels by accident and had to use a glass cutter to make it even. I don't know if I should cut the rest of the panels to make all four panels even or if I should do the one panel.
one of my tank has an air in the silicon, and it makes the water leach out a little bit.. should I remove all the silicon and reasemble the new silicon on that side or i just patch with the problematic silicone part???
When I do this mine makes crunchy sounds. There must be lots of dirt/sand stuck in there, it sounds really bad. The previous owner had it for a turtle or tortoise and had it sitting outside which may be working in my favor in terms of loosening the silicone bonds but I'm afraid the glass may have had just about as much as it can. I don't know. I'm trying to be very gentle with it but I'm worried the glass may crack either way. I don't plan on keeping the trim. I'm trying to take it all apart to then cut into pieces to make 2 seperate terrariums out of it, with plexiglass fronts /w hinged doors. Another issue I'm having is I find my putty knife gets stuck under the rim frequently and I'm afraid one of these times I pull it out it'll crack the glass. Is it normal for it to get stuck sometimes?
I just bought a second-hand 75 gallon tank. The trim is cracked in places and the brace is broken. Along with looking like it's been resealed at least a couple times. Do tanks this size not need the middle brace in the top trim? I'm hoping to take it completely apart and re-do the whole tank... It won't be filled with water, but will have about 6-8 inches of sand/EcoEarth substrate (so still a good bit of weight).
Sir I admire your patience. I'm going to be resealing a 90 gallon but not taking it apart. Self confidence is building and you're an inspiration.
Thanks for your comment! My hope is that by making these videos people will learn and feel confident doing projects like these.
Thanks, man! You're a saint!
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for..thank you!

So how did it turn out? Where's the final product? How long did it last? Did it leak over the last 3 years???

Good luck with my 1000 gallon tank which I am planning to disassemble and reseal
Same but I'm thinking about turning it into 2 plywood tanks

As long as your not filling with water you should be fine
How you clean the glass sides ?
Alcohol I believe. That's how lots of ppl do
I have a glow fish tank, it's perfect for a beta tank, but it has pink silicon
Colored silicone is a cool idea! I've never seen anything other then clear, white, and black. Where do you buy colored silicone?
Don't speak more start the work from the begining
