I think that having influencers like this go to jail would be better in most situations than investors getting their money back. If people start seeing that there will be REAL consequences for actions in the cryptocurrency market, the amount of scams like this would likely decrease pretty significantly.

He literally said in the Twitter video that whenever something like Twitter gets too big, the government should step in and regulate it.
That is literally asking the government to save people...
Meanwhile in this video he tells people it's their fault for getting scammed. Noone is going to save you.

Causation can be used the other way around aswell "a fool and his money is soon parted" is true but what is also true is that "doing something socially unacceptable will get society to turn against you" no matter their profession. So by Asmongolds own logic vigilantism is a cause and effect of someone doing something bad and then the justice system dosent work and peoples will take matter into their own hand to put the person to justice. It is just as obvious as anything else when it comes to cause and effect because that is how society works and always has.

I think when asmon said "no one deserves anything in life, deserve implies there is a universal ordering of things" makes no sense to me and i dont know why he got angry at a veiwer for repeating what he said. The very definition of the word deserve means you are deemed worthy of something. The universe does not deem you worthy. People and law deem you worthy. So if you murder, you deserve jail time. If you study hard and got good grades, you deserve those things. don't base language on the "ordering of the universe".
18:29 "According to who" he says like wtf does that mean. All living creatures die and in the universe, that does not mean we dont matter. We dont need the ten commandments to know rape is wrong.

    • @PathOfJoker
      @PathOfJoker 2 года назад +1

This is a complex topic. By which I mean I have my own perception as do you and us trying to express it to each other might be met with resistance. Many don't want to alter their own views so I wonder if replying to help you understand his point will even be fruitful. Alas i'm bored so i'll just try to make it short. (reply made in order in which asmon talked about it)
      "According to who"
After reading a comment that said the scammer deserves to be punished, Zack asks who is the one who decides said punishment. Then says to the commenter "according to you? I agree with you", he proceeds to state HIS belief that the world we live in has no 10 commandments. Thus the rules of a specific set are false but essentially he is disowning all religious beliefs that claim rules about the world in general. Followed up by physics which he even claims that is not entirely accurate.
      > > >
When Asmongold talks about our decisions being a social construct and not a "universal order" it's quite clear to me what he's referring to. Our choices are being made based on what we have gathered from those around us. Clearly had you been born in another environment your thoughts on the matter might have drastically changed. Perhaps slight changes as to who deserves jail time, which murders are justifiable. Those are products created outside of yourself... but many humans buy into lots of mumbo jumbo and have placed great value on their personal investment. Surely no one wants to find out they've been (mentally)scammed this whole time. The Ego is tricky like that.
      _________
I'd say the cognitive dissonance kicks in when you say the universe does not deem you worthy. People and law deem you worthy.
Yes people are the ones who determine worth because that's a man made concept. Yet you can't make universal claims based on your own personal agenda. Your mind might be the only universe you're aware of, but it is not the only one in existence.

The rule of thumb with crypto is to buy projects which really contribute to something, have clear and transparent roadmap, have some use now and more in the future. Buying something just because it is just recommended by some influencer, without doing prior research about a project in question, assessing risks and reliability beforehand, is just waste of money. I don't think people deserve to be punished, if somebody falls for the scam you have to blame the scammer, not the victim. Still, this should serve as a precaution to be careful in what you invest. And I am saying that from my own experience, everybody makes mistakes while investing money, but you learn from mistakes and move on.

But he didn't sell it all at once? he sold it a little bit at a time so what's the problem? he was still holding most of what he had when he made the comments about selling.

Be very cautious and sceptic about such channels that give advice on stock or crypto currency or similar. Can have already bought, so then getting others to buy to push the price, for then to sell "on top" without telling, then the price drops because the hype is over for this day/week. Or the opposite "sell", where then the price drops for a short time and then buy, waiting for the prices stabilizing again so can sell with profit.

They didn't invent the wheel when it comes to this in crypto, just a few years back a popular investor goes on TV and literally talks about his investments and boost prices, i don't remember if he sold or not but either way he is boosting a price of a stock he already has huge investment in, its good for him either way, he can sell it later down the line or skirt the law somehow so that he doesn't get fined for pump and dump.

So someone gets 12million bucks they freakin start blowing it on expensive cars and planes dang I would have taken that 12mill invested it after paying off anything that needs paid off so I could live comfortable off its interest.

I watched A LOT of crypto youtubers. Never bought anything because they said. Crypto going up either right after or right before they talk about it. Always seemed fishy. Never has a crypto just stayed health while a yt was talking about it. They always move goal poles too if they were wrong. "Not financial advice" tho...
