I have two of these birds I don't know what sex they are we call them smokie and bandit they are both comical little buggers they are Always up to mischief and nosey they want to know everything about what we are doing I wouldn't be without them
I play these clips for my little fellow. He loves them. Makes him happy. Lucky he is still alive .He lost his bottom jaw a while ago in a nasty door incident. Nosy bugger. Lucky it was not his head. I was freaked out for days after. So a vet visit later. Warned it was not good and slim chance would grow back. Soft food went to ground food to he eats fine without his bottom beak. Just need to trim his top one every few months.

I have 2 kakarikis, a male and female. The female loves me sooo much, shes super friendly and always happy☺. But my male is still shy but loves to sing🥰. I love them so much! 🤗 My male kakariki heard this video and started talking to your kakariki 🥺💗
Awww that's so sweet! Thank you for sharing 🥰 haha for me it's the opposite! My male flirts with me all the time and my female is a little skittish. But both of them are very funny and friendly. Happy kakarikis are healthy! So keep up your good work taking care of them 💓 🥰
I once had a budgie who killed a kakariki, so personally I don't dare to put a kakariki with a budgie in the same cage for long periods of time without supervision. I let all my birds run and fly free indoors daily but I keep my kakarikis and budgies separate when they are going to sleep.
@@CheekyKakariki thanks for your advice. Despite being smaller, Budgies are a bit more aggressive. My Kakariki, despite being a larger bird than the Budgie, is much more gentle by nature. He’s a very sweet bird. Thanks again for your advice.
@@theoriginaldanalogue No problem! The budgies I have now are pretty gentle & sweet 🤗 but it's good to be extra careful when it comes to mixing bird species. And yes, kakarikis are usually very gentle 🌼 though they can also be aggressive (but from my experience that only happens during mating season).
Sometimes when I’m up in the middle of the night o play this for my kakarikis while they sleep just to confuse them 🤣 it’s soo funny when I hear “burgadurt” at 2 am, I know I’m a bad mom but it brings me peace knowing they are always alert
Thanks for the heads up! Luckily I haven't used it much yet. But when I do I think I better have my birds in their cages away from the kitchen and a window slightly open to get some fresh air.

Watch out for that waffle iron there if you use it when its been scratched (it is lined with Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) ) it can kill birdies..
