- The Alternative Battle :
On May 27th, 1941, as the badly damaged Bismarck struggles to reach the German occupied France for repairs, However, the British fleet had sighted the lone German ship and attack. The British knew that the Bismarck was badly damaged by previous engagements and had the opportunity to destroy the Hood's killer to finally avenge the HMS Hood.
Bismarck is hit by more gunfire by battleships HMS King George V and HMS Rodney, as well from two British Cruisers Norfolk and Dorsetshire. as the lone German Battleship was immediately burning, hundreds of men we're killed by gunfire. but then all of a sudden, German reinforcements finally arrived to save the pride of the Kriegsmarine, consisting of U-boats and Luftwaffe, desperately managed to stop the British fleet from destroying the crippled Bismarck.
The Germans successfully destroyed the British ships, and the Bismarck was finally saved, but crippled in a bad shape. After the Battle, the Bismarck is in a full silent but still burning. and the U-boats continue protecting the Battleship until more German ships arrive to escort Bismarck to the German occupied France in the port of St. Nazaire for repairs.
In the Conclusion, if the Bismarck was saved by reinforcements back then, this would be a Bad situation for Britain and allies upon the effort on convoys to supply the Allies in Europe. and once the Bismarck was repaired, she would be even more stronger than ever, and continue on to Hunt and destroy the Allied Convoys in the Atlantic. and Therefore, Hitler's navy is unstoppable.
Those are some super long range bombers, to be able to reach that far in the atlantic.
*Sees Dorsetshire get one-tapped by torpedo*
*Remembers my HMS Renown getting one-tapped by a torpedo*
Seems about right.
Do 217 bombers my beloved, also using the camera as makeshift gunsight, did that too. Great minds think alike eh?
Torpedoes form U-boats I found have travel just less than 2,300 meters, same with the surface ships, so I tend to make shots around the 2,000 meter range. The British topedoes tend to run longer each turn, around 3,000 to 3,500 meters, maybe more.
Glad to see I'm not the only one still playing this!
That's pretty good for you my friend, keep it up. 😄👏
